Yeah bro. I just ordered the 16's. They will feel big and loads more padded than my **** 10oz's lol. I have to go about 5 rounds high intense rounds on the bag for me to really feel it. But, the 16's will help me get better stamina, speed everything really.

Noooo the gloves weigh 16oz. I would shadow box with 1.5kg on each hand with some wrist and ankle weights.

I use 20oz gloves which sounds insane, but it has really helped me out. These things are almost as big as my forearm, but when I first started getting into boxing I asked for the heaviest gloves they had to increase stamina and speed. I only use them when I'm not in the gym though, I use 16oz gloves in the gym which is the standard there.

The gloves take a lot of snap out of your punches, but I usually do 7 rounds of continuous punching while working the bag. I usually have no energy left, but my punches seem to be faster than most of the guys in the gym and my effective workrate is much higher.

I wouldn't recommend 20oz gloves simply because you have to get used to 14-16oz gloves if you're planning on getting in the ring. My point being that it wouldn't simulate the feel and effect of your punches when it actually counts.

I wouldn't use sparring gloves on the bag, they will be ****ed in a while. Thats why they have specially sparring gloves and gloves for hitting the bag with. Or if you happen to be rich then you can probably afford buying new gloves every 3 to 4 months.

I will probably use my tens for sparring and 16's now for pads, bags, etc. My hands would be loads quicker and feel so light in sparring. Trying to get a mixture of both. The 'bag gloves' have **** padding and its better to use sparring gloves for them I feel.

I use 12oz lonsdale super spar gloves. the knuckle padding is good but the thumb sucks. I kind of like them though they have character I've used them for so long.

I dont like using 16s for sparring either, to me gives a false sense of reality. Easier to defend with, dont hurt as much when they land. Id rather use closer to or the same weight as what you fight with. Its boxing not a pillow fight!

You dont have to throw with full power anyway.

just got back from training and realised I use 12s and not 14s.

Also I am assuming that the weight is in the whole glove with increased size and knuckle padding, not just the wrist part.

if u sparred in contest gloves or close to da weight u would only be able to spar once a week at most. u would been constantly bruised and sore
