In 3 rounds of sparring I got hit with 1 punch. 1 PUNCH! 0 Jabs, 0 Body Shots, 0 Left hooks, 1 deflected Right hand that Ironically hit me because my hands were up and I didn't see it (Watch at 3:26).
I was more relaxed in the ring than most of you are posting on this forum.
Most of you really miss the finer points of boxing. You are under the impression that to be a good you have to be fast as lighting and look just like Juan Manuel Marquez.
Many of you forget that the most important thing in boxing is your brain. Keeping your hands up is a waste of energy, if you already know when your opponent is going to punch, and what punch they are going to throw.
People are under the impression that they will beat me because they see some critical flaw... No, that is why you will lose. You don't realize that I want you to think I have that flaw. I want you to try and take advantage of that flaw... you are just playing into my hand.
Above all else, boxing is a game of strategy. You can have the best technique in the world, the fastest hands in the world, the most power in the world, its not enough.
You have to be smart, you have to be relaxed, you will never beat someone that can out think you.
You guys can keep working on perfecting your technique, and increasing your speed, and improving your power, endurance, strength and scariness. I will spend my time learning to control my opponents, to trick you, to make you think instead of punch, to make you think I am going to do one thing when I am really going to do something else.
Its the difference between knowing how to move a chess piece and where to move a chess piece. You can move your chess piece as fast and precise as you want, if its a crappy move, none of it matters.
My game is tricking you into making LOTS of crappy moves.
lol **** off bernard
that sparring was weak. i understand working WITH each other. but u doin no1 any favours sparring like dat.
do u think a seasoned amateur will fall victim of ur amazing ability to control their thoughts inside da ring? lol
sorry bro but i hate people that cant accept criticism and hav 2 argue and justify everyfin

LOL this guy acts like if there hasn't been amateurs in the ring that deal with other fighters that try these "tricks" with them. even pros deal with mind games all the time, and prevail because of their technique and hard training they put in.
Keeping your hands up is a waste of energy? that was the dumbest claim in your whole argument.
Go study the thread "Proper Sparring", they show how a good sparring session should be.

What makes this so absolutely hilarious to me is that half of you don't even realize that this is not "real" sparring.
If you guys could stop tripping over your egos and actually watch the video, you might learn something.
Honestly, I don't expect anything less from a bunch of 16 year-olds, I am sure you guys know absolutely everything there is to know about boxing.
