I'm an 11 stone gym freak about 5 foot 9 whose been lifting weights for well over a decade and the bench press is my baby, pet exercise. On a 20-30Kg bar I struggle to do decent reps of much more than 37.5kgs a side (about 100-105 in total). I do the reps fairly slowly all the way down to the chest. I've never seen anyone my weight (stocky or skinny) come close to this without either jerking the weight, not going fully down to the chest and fully up at a sensible speed or having hands far from shoulder width apart. I'm sure there are some non powerlifting freakishly strong 11 stoners who can kick my behind at bench pressing, and I dont mean 11 stone guys who are 5 foot but as wide as a house.

But......that said I have to see this, please post a video of you benchpressing 130KG. It'll give me a whole something new to aim for.
I stated before I started training I was always 'strong and thin', never skinny. I am shocked at how people are surprised I can do this, and doubt I can do this! I take it as a complement that 'I have to be a semi pro or a power lifter'!! I will see what I can do if I do post a vid I will show myself on the scales and then three reps of 130 kilos on the bench press!

And for the record I was stuck on 100 kilos for months, if you make yourself go 10 kilos up (regardless of how little reps you can do) occasionally you will prepare yourself for to doing 8-6 reps of it. I do 10-8 reps on 100, how many do you do when you lift that much?

By the way, just to clarify...you guys are talking about bench pressing with a BARBELL right?? not some machine/pulley/cable/smith right?, as because you will be able to bench " A LOT MORE" with machines! Just to be sure

How do you guys manage to weightlift if you are going to the boxing gym 4-5 times a week, doing conditioning, etc?
