i fought an exhibition against a kid a year and a half or so older than me, 2nite(i just turned 14 he was 15 nearly 16) he was 12 kgs heavier (he was 55 i was 43) and we full went at it from the bell, he was a southpaw too! he made my nose bleed halfway through the first and we were both warned for going too hard as it was just an exhibition, especially him as he was heaps heavier and older, at the end of the first i backed him up and hit him with shots that would have put away a kid my size. in the second i just burrowed in to him and hit him hard in the body, he got me with some clean ones and i got an 8 count put on me. at the end the ref just said to me, "look mate hes too heavy and and older than ya and u might get hurt if it keeps going" i got annoyed cos i wanted to keep fightin but he stopped the bout, the other kid was technically the victor but as it was an exhibition it doesnt go on my record. everyone who saw the fight was saying how gutsy i was and how i would have ripped apart a kid my age and size but the main point of it is i think i got some great experience in there and am confident of winning a real bout in may against an opponent my age and size, has anyone else out there had some real memorable boxing experiences that made them better fighters??

I fought a real bruiser. He cheated throughout, and taught me one thing. Play to the referee. He was doing **** like holding me, as i went to hold him also, he'd throw his arms in the air and look at the referee. I got a couple of ****ign warnings.
Ever since then, i've done the same. Played up to the ref to keep him of my back. Sounds ****ty...but.. y'know...ref's are bastards.

Stinks something rotten eh? This guy was well experienced though. I just decided i'd never be a fool to it ever again.
The thing is, it's so strict in the Am ring. Something you can do with on referee, the following fight you are getting warnings for it.

C'mon Da1catas...
It's a sad day when you dwell on that you didn't destroy one person in sparring.
Are you telling me you've never lost a round of sparring since that moment?!
You need to get out of this mind set.
