    As to what they do, you can't really understand that if you don't know much about the body. Basically, their most important thing is the binding of free radicals. Long story short... VERY long story very short, free radicals cause ****, and antioxidants give them the smack down.

    Free radical oxygen is made all the time, and basically the more energy you make (how much **** you metabolize) the more free radicals you make.

      hmmm.... think I need to do some more reading, I though free radicals were a **** boy band or something

              And Leff, I'm glad you have no hard feelings, because I don't either, but I'm pretty well up to date with this kind of literature.
