Caffeine can give you a performance edge, that is actually true, but it can also make other aspects worse.

And Leff, I'm glad you have no hard feelings, because I don't either, but I'm pretty well up to date with this kind of literature. I know it sounds kinda *******...ish, but all serious scientific papers today are published in english, I mean, right now I'm working in Germany, but everything I do is in english. So if what you're refering to isn't published in english, then I wouldn't take it too seriously... no offense or anything, I'm not saying WE'RE BETTER THAN YOU or anything, but it's just the way it is nowadays.

Again, no disrespect, but none of the great trainers in the world are feeding their fighters coffee.

That being said, there can be some advantages, but there are advantages in all kinds of things...

you know what trick - when i fight next season and i'm in a smokey pub and i've been at work all day and as a senior i'm on later in the show - i may even be physically drain from sweating out a couple of pounds. A few cups of sugary tea or coffee might just do the trick and might even calm the nerves?

Sure, it may, depending on you, if anything, if it just relaxes you then hell, why not I suppose. Although chemically it makes you more agitated, it calms a lot of people down.

I'm just saying, drinking 4 cups of coffee per day like it's some health drink is pretty ridiculous.

Also, coffee itself isn't too bad, but lots of people load their's up with sugar, cream and the like, which isn't such a good idea.

coffee contains more natural antioxidants than green tea.

                hmm, didn't know that.

Though antioxidants don't really have anything to do with boxing

Trick, I didn't come here to argue with you.. I was just making a point.

Green tea has like, 150 or something per cup. Coffee has around 400, if my memory serves me correct. Consuming lots of antioxidants and natural foods is key to maintaining a healthy body.

Having said that, I have drank coffee before training and prefer to not do that. I find I ration my energy much better without it. It makes you lose liquid much faster, it makes me feel like more of a front runner.\

I love it in the morning, though.
