I noticed the knuckle pushups really used to help back when i did kung fu. lately i've been lazy with it and i've had some hand injuries. the hand i did all my iron fist stuff on in kung fu never gets injured, it's the other one. gotta start workin on that stuff again.

I do believe that strong hands help you hit harder. My hands are immensely powerful (mechanic by hobby, machinist by trade), and they never even ache. People hate getting hit by me, though.

Boxing Myth #2 : McAlister has just started boxing so by calling him "Little Roy Jones" because he has "fast hands" will better his boxing!

          WRONG.

It will inflate his ego and start making him box with professional style such as the philly shell. All boxers should first be taught the amateur-like guard which resembles the high and tight guard before ever moving on.

My hands are strong, knuckles are never so except for a pinky that was destroyed and never healed right. Anyway my left wrist is fragile. If I throw a left hook wrong it hurts like hell. Does anybody know how I can strengthen it?

What you should do is get a punching board and hit it. What you do is take a piece of wood, tape a book to it, then wrap it around with tape and then just punch it. It'll get your knuckles real hard.

Or you could just hit the ****ing punching bag, same thing.

My hands are solid but I get sore elbow joints, the inside part joining Forearm to bicep when i unload alot of heavy hooks any1 know why? It could just be with my job, Im a tree climber so pulling up the rope will put strain on the elbow joint but its only sore after hitting the heavy bag with big hooks

That happens to me. I just find the more I hit the bag, the less it happens. Also forearm exercises help. Some people around here are against dumbell curls as they say it does nothing for me. First of all, I find solid (not BIG) biceps do help you, but more so, I do my curls by bringing the weight up to my face rotating at a 90 angle, which is the same premise behind what you do with your wrist when you punch. Well, in a sense. So I make sure I do those and that helps. Although ya, don't do like mad heavy weight, you don't want huge biceps, and I find that my wrists weaken when they get tired anyways, so not so much weight at more reps is for me more beneficial.

It might be with the way you snap your jab out. I had a problem when I stepped to the left to load up a homerun right hand and missed the bag and couldn't even throw the right hand for 3 months.
