SHOWTIME will come out strong at the first bell of the year on Saturday, January 6 with a championship doubleheader featuring #1 contender Sam Peter battling #2 WBC challenger James Toney in a heavyweight WBC title eliminator rematch plus WBA super welterweight champion Jose Rivera against world champion-in-recess and mandatory challenger Travis Simms. Also tentatively scheduled is IBF super welter champ Cory Spinks against mandatory challenger Rodney Jones. The winner of Peter vs. Toney becomes the mandatory for WBC champion Oleg Maskaev, although it has been reported by ********* writer Matt Richardson that Maskaev is in serious negotiations for a title unification with IBF champ Wladimir Klitschko in April. Maskaev would most likely ask for an exception against the Peter-Toney mandatory if given the opportunity to unify. The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida is the possible venue.

Nope, he actually submitted Kevin Randleman (the guy slamming him) within a minute of being slammed. He was perfectly fine.

BTW Toney will win every round this time against Peter. I had Toney winning 9 rounds in the first fight, I think Toney will be in better shape for the rematch and will pitch a shutout!
