gary shaw is the one who is dying as far as his boxing promoting. he's lost all his main fighters, all within the same year. he has got to be ****ing up to have all his guys take off on him.

boxing is here to stay and there is also room for MMA too.

As a pro MMA fighter and former amatuer boxer I resent this statement. I dont feel like arguing with you but your comment is ignorant and uneducated. I understand that those who are uneducated in grappling and submissions may find many MMA fights unappealing. Rest assured there is tons of technique involved in an MMA fight. You have to learn how to fight standing up, on the ground, and in the clinch. It is a physical and mental chess match.

Are MMA guys as good at boxing as boxers? Of course not. In MMA you have to learn how to fight in all facets of the game, therefore not being able to devote all your time just to boxing.

Both sports have great athletes. Why hate? I think both boxing and MMA are wonderful sports and that they can both co-exist and prosper in the future.

the americans are behind UFC...it shows by the numbers...and the reason is white champions before white guys were getting whooped in boxing for a long time! white people were said they couldnt fight...now when ufc came around and you can grab a guy and mount him an hit him it makes them feel powerful...so what do you think they will watch boxing which most white midwestern men cant relate to or wrestling ala ufc ground and pound?

remember Cooney? when he fought larry holmes? he was the great white hype that guy was huge at that time! whites stuck behind him big time.

Same thing with ufc if ********** start dominating ufc the ratings will drop...

What a ****** ass statement. Aren't all the heavyweight boxing champs white??? That hasn't saved the ratings for them. UFC has gone mainstream because many people find an MMA fight much more entertaining than a boxing match. Not because the majority of champs are white. Fact. An MMA fight is as close to a real fight that you can get to legally and that appeals to a lot of people. You have more ways to end a fight.

That being said, there are plenty of MMA fights that are boring as hell. It goes both ways.

It is true the majority of champs in MMA are white. However, there are quite a few black guys fighting MMA now and the middleweight champ Anderson Silva (a bad ass and great guy) is black. Don't expect to see any one race completely dominate in MMA ever, there are way too many variables.

When grappling and more strategy is involved you will never see a "******" takeover. Take a look at the "******" undisciplined guys who have gotten involved in MMA. Most with the exception of Quinton Jackson have been thoroughly whooped.
