What a ****** ass statement. Aren't all the heavyweight boxing champs white??? That hasn't saved the ratings for them. UFC has gone mainstream because many people find an MMA fight much more entertaining than a boxing match. Not because the majority of champs are white. Fact. An MMA fight is as close to a real fight that you can get to legally and that appeals to a lot of people. You have more ways to end a fight.

That being said, there are plenty of MMA fights that are boring as hell. It goes both ways.

When grappling and more strategy is involved you will never see a "******" takeover. Take a look at the "******" undisciplined guys who have gotten involved in MMA. Most with the exception of Quinton Jackson have been thoroughly whooped.

HECTARI.. if the UFC or MMA in general is stealing any fans.. Its from the WWE not BOXING.. Wrestling has always had good numbers.. and its almost always young white guys who watch.. They are 2 very different things.. As mentioned many time in your BOXING is dying threads.. If boxing is dying its by its own hands not the HANDs of MMA.. Who exactly are you trying to convince..??? MMA Already has a ****** takeover by way of just about every brazillian based fighter who fights out there, just listening to their portugese tells me they are straight from the hood alot of times. Lots of broke, "came from nothing" fighters have competed in MMA.

What i dont get is why would they watch wwe over real fighting i know wwe is entertainment but its for kids i stopped watching wwf when i was 14 its kinda like when you realize teh tooth fairy doesnt exist.

The only thing I cant understand, is how you say MMA is dominating boxing? WWE still brings in bigger numbers then UFC. Also, in bars they don't show UFC here I dont recall ever seeing it (Cleveland). Maybe if you goto the some ****** bar (no name hole in the wall) you might see it but most sports bars show boxing and or football/basketball. How many non pay-per-view fights do you see from UFC? BTW the things they show on spike 99% of the time arent live so its like watching espn classic, they dont count. Thats why UFC has high numbers, they have very few free fights so to see it you gotta pay. Thats also why boxing doesn't when they can get better fights free, they don't have to be subjected to ****ty pay-per-view fights because they have options. This discussion does happen here when the wrestlers argue against the amateur boxers, granted the boxers win 90% of the fights because most of the time the boxers are 210ish and the wrestlers are 150... The discussion is who in a real fight would win. People say if you get them on the ground the wrestler, but with the speed and accuracy of a boxers (decent ones) punch theyll be in trouble way before they can get them to the ground.

ufc appeals to white trash, frat boys of all ethnicities and those dirt bike an biker with tattoos people who like to see monsters who take roids...look how dana white markets it...with ****** rock music that sucks, and then with extreme commericials its more like wwe then a sport DANA white doesnt care for the sport he cares for the profit, anyone who thinks different is dumb.

my favorite division in ufc is the lightweights and i went to one event and all those rednecks were booing and fell asleep during it...it was the most exciting bout yves edwards vs josh thompson.

ill give boxing 1 thing...their fan base is True and loyal...id rather have loyal REAL fans then bandwagon fairweather fans who will probally move onto the next big thing 2 years from now.


Bottomline is right now UFC is the big thing....amongst the wild party people.
