In my opinion, Cotto already surpassed him. Tito's career was built on cheating through illegal handwraps.

The experts agree that handwrapping cannot contribute to punching power. Handwraps are for the fighter's protection, not to add power.

None of the boxing experts ever bring this up when they talk about Tito, so I doubt it is true. Hopkins was just playing mind games with Tito, who was two weight classes above his natural weight anyway. And another thing, how many times has Hopkins been knocked down in his career? It cant be more than once.

I wasn't being racist I have a pair of Air Force one myself and they were the first shoe I thought of. It did sound racist though, actually very much so now that I look at it.
