De La Hoya: "Ibragimov Will Beat Shannon Briggs"

In terms of raw talent Sultan Ibragimov is probably the best in the heavyweight division. Sadly he is the classic example of the underachiever who has not and will not reach his full potential. On one of his good days there isn't anybody in the divison he couldn't beat and and that includes the overrated Wladimir Klitschko. Shannon Briggs is the sort of opponent Ibragimov can beat on one of his bad days.Comment

Briggs will defeat Ibragimov handily. Ibragimov will not get inside on Briggs so he will not rack up any points in the judges eyes.
Lyakhovich tried getting inside early on in the fight but was met with some solid counters and then he became scared. What I saw was a scared fighter out there. The only reason Lyakhovich was ahead on points not only in the judges eyes but mine also was Briggs inactivity which will eventually lead to Briggs downfall after he defeats Ibragimov and fights a good fighter with reach.Comment

Ibragimov is pure ****. I really thought he was going to do well but he showed his true colors against Ray Austin. He is overhyped. Austin looked like one of the most uncoordinated boxers I have ever seen in my life against Ibragimov and Ibragimov was unable to finish him off. Briggs would knockout Austin early on.Comment

Hm, could it be Ray Austin is actually a good spoiler type opponent who's better than his record indicates, and fights in an awkward style while making good use of his height and reach?
No way does Briggs finish Austin early. That fight would be pick 'em and I think Austin would get the decision.Comment
