BTW he's the most skillfull fighter I've ever seen. If he retires today, he will be considered one of the all time greats.

In all seriousness, if Floyd retired today, I'd think along the line of Muhammad Ali retiring in 1967. Would he be ranked as highly as he is today by some if he never participated during the 1970's?

That's kind of where I'd put Floyd, maybe a little higher; but not much. He did well at lightweight; but wasn't the greatest lightweight...same at jr. lightweight. He didn't establish himself at jr. welter at all and never fought the champion. So far, as a welterweight, he's beaten two very good fighters in his era; but is still not overwhelming in accomplishment with several others out there that he's never faced.

Floyd was a better than average Jr. Lightweight and Lightweight and is a better than average Welterweight; but he's not an "all time great" yet. He's being hyped on his tremendous skill and ability. That, quite simply, isn't enough.

Not alone in this, I think floyd is the best 130 fighter ever.

I don't think that comparing records with guy like SRL is fair considerng that there were alot of great fighters for Leonard to face, Mayweather doesn't have such a rich pool of opponents to chose from, I honestly don't see anyone beating him at 147. I'd have to agree that he hasn't earned the staus of fighter like SRL, SRR, or even DLH, if he wants to get higher on the list of greats then he needs to step it up & keep fighting strong opposition, even if that means risking a lose on his record, cause a loss never stop SRR, SRL or DLH.

LOL...Skillfully he's one of the best I've ever seen but, IMO he hasn't done enough or had a career defining fight to be considered an all time great. Like someone else said he should go and get the big fights that are still out there.
Is he was to fight all the top boxers that are out there Hatton,Cotto,Mosley,DLH then I would consider him with the likes of Robinson & so forth.

I truely hope he doesn't believe what he said at post fight about Oscar.
DLH up to this point has done much more as a fighter than PBF has.

He may be considered an all time great by some, but it will be based on a question mark (what COULD he have done)
Die hard fans will probably always question his greatness and the experts will probably be less and less kind to him as the years go by because of his mouth and unwillingness to clean the division out.
