The fact that Gatti can't take it to the body makes Cotto a heavy favorite.
Gatti does have the punch to hurt Cotto, though.
But if Floyd could hurt Gatti with a bodyshot, Miiguelito would fold him.

I'd still put my points on Gatti. I don't care who Cotto fights, I'll always bet against him.

I hope this fight is ever even considered. Cotto needs to step his game up to the superstar level. Fighting Gatti will be three steps backwards.

if i was gatti at this point i would fight about 5 bums in the same year then retire, makes the record look good when hes gone, and hell go out a winner...

but....gatti is the king of all comebacks,he has shocked the world before with amazing wins that we never thought possible,so why not now?

im not sayin he will win,i do doubt it,but u know, why the **** not?this is gatti were talkin about

I do think Gatti can hurt cotto, but at this point in his career, gatti needs to avoid him and hang them up, cotto is the quicker of the two, and who get to gattil b4 gatti can do anything

cotto hatton, would be nice, pick cotto to win
pbf vs cotto would be nice, pick pbf to won

gatti is not a small welterweight. it's more like baldomir is a thick, broad welterweight with a great chin and massive head.

gatti was a huge junior welterweight too. the guy put up 19 lbs and weighed 160 for a fight scheduled at 141...back in 2000. cotto weighed 157 on fight night against corley.

they both put on a lot of weight. the 'small welterweight' thing is just hbo making an excuse for their boy gatti.

mayweather is a small welterweight. he weighed 149 on fight night last weekend. judah is fairly small welterweight who rarely puts on much weight after the weigh-in.

gatti weighed more on fight night back when he was a junior welter than many welterweights.

Your thoughts? I think its a good matchup though it could really mess up Gatti big time.

Sure, why not. Gatti might as well get his ass-kicked one more time. Boxing has a proud tradition of fighters who stay around too long and get beaten up on by younger guys. Arturo is just a traditionalist....real "old school". He'll eventually quit; but he's going to have to be beaten up pretty bad a couple of times first to convince him he can't do it anymore.

                      2. HBO being the best boxing network has a high standard of fighters, so gatti must choose the best oppent out of the top fighters so it looks like its cotto. After this Fight gatti will never fight again.
hbo has allowed its fighters on a number of occassions to take soft touches and not fight the top fighters.
