I'm surprised that I've read four pages of this and nobody has given Gatti a chance. I think Gatti always has a chance. He can catch Cotto in between punches and stun him.
We haven't seen Cotto at 147 yet so we don't know how he's going to deal. My guess is he'll be stronger but he also might be slower.
I'd give Gatti a chance, about 2 1/2 to 1, probably. Baldi was a 4-1 underdog to Mayweather but I think Gatti has a better chance against Cotto than I thought he had against Baldi because I know Baldi will not be KO'd and has a brick for a head.Comment

Gatti should go for Malignaggi or Hatton if he wants to fight again.
For all 3 fighters involved in that (Malignaggi, Hatton and Gatti) that is a smart move in terms of promotion. Malignaggi just coming off a loss to Cotto but fought his heart out, against Gatti who always fights his heart out. Hatton who needs more exposure in the USA. Gatti has one more fight under HBO? Make it Hatton for christ sake... that makes 100% sense. And for Gatti, if he can beat either he has a chance of salvaging his career which has been in shreds of late. So yes, complete business sense and will do a lot for any 3 of the mentioned fighters if they can get a result.
As for Cotto, leave that man alone. He would kill Gatti. Think about it PBF took him to school and Baldomir outsized him. Putting Cotto in is just like adding a superior boxing technique and size all into one combo. PBF didnt have the size, Baldy didnt have the skill, Cotto has both.
Take the fight? Yeah if you want permanent brain damage.Comment
