I thought Baldomir, with the new guys he has in his corner, would lift his game up a bit, but it didn't happen. He was still flat-footed, lacked a bit of aggression, and couldn't seem to hurt Mayweather (I still won my bet however). Given that he lost the fight fair and square, Mayweather didn't exhibit the kind of punch he needs to handle the bigger guys. He should have knocked out Baldomir, but, aside from a few marks on his face, didn't even hurt him. And he didn't dominate like he should have. He was sticking and moving a good percentage of the fight, backing up, and not looking especially effective with a low punch output. This isn't the stuff a "dominant figher" in an era is made of. Pretty Boy just looked like a "pretty boy" protecting his reputation, rather than a devastating fighter. I can't see a lot of people paying for him to fight De La Hoya based on this kind of non-performance. Tiger Woods left before the fight was over, and Mayweather was dancing around in the last round when he should have been pressing.

why should you press the action in the last round against a desperate, bigger opponent whose only hope is to knock you out. that's the kind of stuff that Morales pulls

Honestly, neither am I at the moment. I was very impressed with the way he fought Tsyzu. After that I was a believer, I was ****ing hyped, thought Hatton would surely change the climate in the scene.....then I saw the fight with Collazo.

Now I understand Hatton was moving up and may have not been adjusted to the weight and whatnot, but he looked downright sloppy in that fight. Had I not known better I'd have sworn he was intoxicated.

There's rumors of a Hatton/Castillo showdown in early 07' so we'll see what happens. If he can decisively defeat Castillo and showcase his natural ability, then I think Floyd should fight him. Coasting on the Tsyzu victory isn't enough in my eyes.

There are many people here who say Floyd has beaten the toughest out there. Here's my two cents- if there is a large group of people saying you aren't taking the toughest opponents, if there are question marks out there like Cotto, Hatton, Margarito- you need to answer those questions. Why on Earth would Mayweather speak of retiring with so many fights out there? So many fights left to prove his legacy. Will he be considered one of the greats? Not if there are a large amount of boxing fans, and therby boxing writers, who think otherwise. History is written by journalists, novelists, etc. Those people are still questioning Mayweather...so he has work to do.

He needs to fight, before he retires, :

          Cotto
          Hatton
          Maragirito
          Mosley
          De La Hoya

If he fights all those boxers, and beats them, he will shut the mouth of every critic. As long as there is a '?' about him fighting tough opponents he probably hasn't.

Regardless of the fact what all of you are doing is summing up PBF's carrer at 135 overshadowing the current weight class which HE ALONE considers has been conquered by him he is at 147 not 130 or 35. I consider him one of the best at 135 and 30 he is the best i know but NOT WELTERWEIGHT Gatti , Sharmba Mitcell, Baldomir is not sufficient credibility to state he is the best at 147 his best opposition at 147 was judah but he needs to fight some more fights to determine he is the best at welter. DECENT Opposition such as RICKY HATTON, MIGUEL COTTO, ANTONIO MARGARITO, SHANE MOSLEY. HE needs to fight any of these guys to take any doubt out of my mind he is the best in that weight class , regardless if the opponents are credible this is justa line up of guys who will atleast challenge him to atleast utilize all of his skills personally the guy talks too much , and he should of beat baldomir in less than 12 , from what my friend told me he walked out of the fight before the 12th round so obviously he is not big ppv money as he says he is. Wins over Diego Corrales, Jose Luis Castillo , Jesus Chavez have solidified his skills yes , respect yes , but what PBF fans do is overshadow those names in his new carrer at 147 , If he fights the list above , he has my respect but until he stops ducking fights for 8 million and a wbo title I will consider him a true champ

i hope your not gonna put floyd in the top 10 p4p all time greats list just for beating those guys, with one of the castillo fights many say he lost

The simply fact is his fought some good fighters but its about fighting good fighters at your current weigth class, i give him hell of credit for all his wins at 130-135-140 and 147 BUT the fact is his a WELTERWEIGHT now and as he did at 130 and 135 he needs to fight the best 140 to 147 pound fighters out there he's made a great start of it but there are still a few fighters out there that WOULD DEFINTLEY CEMENT his GREATNESS! HIS CURRENT STATUS GOOD HIS STATUS COULD BE GREAT!

                    Baldomir

Yep i think he had beat the best in his era,id like to see him and Cotto fight next

As for fighting Hatton, hes offered him 3 times already,Hatton has turned dem down saying he needs more tune ups or asking for 13 million

As for Margarito and Williams, what does he gain if he does fight them? No1 really knows them yet,let Marg and Williams fight eachover,Floyd dont need them

So yeh he has fought and beaten the best in his era,the only one id like to see him fight now is Cotto
corrales is one dimensional and was overated
castillo is the best opponent floyd has fought and he lost the first fight imo
                    chavez was nothing special
gatti was shot and was alway overated
                    judah again overated
badomir too slow and overated and we all knew mayweather would beat him with ease

castillo is the best fighter he has fought at that was way back at 135, floyd needs to step up to the challange and fight hatton or cotto who are both better than everyone you mentioned aside from castillo

so no he hasn't fought the best, far from it but he has these last few years of his career to prove me wrong by starting to fight the recognised bests at 140 and 147
