the first time im actually gonna AGREE with Dino.

I do think that Ali is 2nd or 3rd best ever in the heavyweights, but when u try to have a discussion about the man, proven in this very thread, people consider an unbeatable god.

When truthfully, ali had many flaws and was VERY beatable. He was just so talented, the big gaps in talent never showed.

BUT, i had ali winning 2 or 3 rounds prior to the KO of foreman. but he definetly wasnt winning the fight. But like the great champion he is, he was able to put all together when he needed to, and stop foreman

I do think Ali is the greatest heavyweight ever easily based on competition. Holmes fought much weaker opponents than Ali and Louis fought alot of bums. The lack of a body attack I can't stand, but he made up for it with sheer talent. How many fighters can beat top heavyweight of the seventies with no body attack and basically no left hook. Jab a right hand and he still won.

I agree totally with you. Dino's rep has hurt him in this thread, but he is right for the most part. On accomplishment Ali is easily a top three HW of all time, but he had tons of flaws, and you'd have to give ten to twelve guys a very good shot at beating him even in his prime. And he did get the benefit of the doubt from the judges on several occasions (but what 'great' fighter has not). He was great but flawed and beatable like everyone else.

All I'm going to say is that there is a few posters on here who have a 'slightly' higher opinion of Ali than I do, but I'd still rank him as one of the two greatest heavyweight of all-time along with Joe Louis.

i agree that ali is over rated but he certainly didnt lose every round to foreman. foreman looked like a fool for that entire fight.
