Look, the fight's happening anyway due to the bigger names and better boxers being tied up. Be happy.Comment

Thats what the polls show very clearly.
Calzaghe will get minimal respect for taking any other fight. - Even if it is Taylor (the best of the rest).Comment

Open your eyes. A clear a majority of those at all interested in SMW will be very disapointed in Calzaghe, if he doesn't take the Kessler fight.

I think boxing opinion would be fine with Calzaghe fighting a big name rather than the untested Kessler, although it's looking likely that the latter will happen, so long as Palle's demands aren't ridiculous (and all this talk of "if the money is right" from Palle makes me wonder ....).Comment

You seem to be under the misguided impression that internet polls are uncorruptable and accurate gauges of public opinion. Which is a little bit silly really.

As for whether the fight will be made and Palle's demands.
I have little doubt it'll fall through and Fwank will blame Palle for outpricing himself. Kessler is not gonna bring his belts to the UK for free and Warren will not want to pay him. Simple as that.
Then you guys (the 5-6 ppl left in the Calzaghe fanclub) will be cursing Kessler for not taking the fight - while watching Calzaghe put up another mediocre performance against a sub top-20 opponent.
Meanwhile the rest of the boxingworld will judge Calzaghe/warren on their (negotiating) record and attitude of late and (rightly) assume Calzaghe is 100% to blame.
At the end of it there won't be an ounce of respect left for Calzaghe outside of his fanclub (now reduced to 3 ppl). Ppl will automaticly disrespect and downgrade all previous Calzaghe victories and he'll retire without ever getting his "big american money fight", being considered one of the biggest overhyped frauds in recent boxing history.Comment
