You gang up with the likes of Beowulf and SHB - who if anything are bigger nuthuggers than me or the other danes you mention.

And yes - we are happy and excited there's finally a good danish boxer out there worth talking about. But it's not like that is at all different from the brits going on about how incredible Calzaghe is despite looking crap in every other fight against sub top-20 opposition.

Yes Calzaghe's record at this point is better than Kessler's - but it bloody well should be with Calzaghe being 8 years older than Kessler. With that in mind Calzaghe doesn't come across as being all that special compared to the potential that can be seen in Kessler.

And as for Lacy's resume being better than Kessler's (perhaps not your argument). That's certainly debateable. I doubt even most american posters feel that way anymore - So are such a statement ANY less biased than what we danes are saying?

The attitude of your little gang here are as hypocritical as any ive seen on this board so far.

I'm not a calzaghe nuthugger you arsewipe. I think kessler is great, but Calzaghe is better. Your two Danish friends are the nuthuggers.

I can understand how Danes would be excited about Kessler, but Denmark is still reknowned as a country that produces boxers with massively padded records who are exposed against the best. Now Kessler is not a fraud, but he hasn't proven himself yet.

**** you for calling me a nuthugger!!

I have allready made a post saying Kessler should have 10-12 fights less on his record list with the names he fought.

This whole discussion is about Calzaghe talking off to fight dusty old farts, calling himself the best smw, without taking the fight. Nothing else.. I havn´t said anything about him being anything but a Champ who would be Kesslers Everest.. I´d have to be insane not to have high regards about him.

They are number one and two, in the order you may like. You know who i´d pick..

        What fight hasn't Calzaghe taken?

I wouldn't have Joe on my list of favourite 3 fighters. I only really tend to comment on British and European boxing topics (i.e. things they show this side of the water) and when ignorant fools act like idiots. Luckily for you you're meeting both criteria.

          Quote JC
JC: I've heard I'll be fighting the Dane Mikkel Kessler to unify the division in February in Europe, but I'm not interested in him - he doesn't mean anything to America.

Kessler needs that fight more than I do. You won't tempt Bernard Hopkins to fight me.

The great man, like a number of so-called big names in America, has always got a handy excuse not to fight me. I hope Winky Wright or Jermain Taylor will move up a division from middleweight because they're good fighters - but they're both fighting in December and the February date Frank has been given by HBO could be too soon, unfortunately. But I'd take any big name.

          ------------------------
          back at ya..

So by calling out Taylor, Wright and Hopkins he's ducking a big fight? Do you ever think these things through?

Anyway, that first sentence makes it sounds like the Kessler fight is a done deal, before he moves on to bigger and better things. Which also kinds of makes your "ducking" references utterly ridiculous.

I can kind of understand Calzaghe's comments (he's been knocked enough for fighting unproven fighters in the past, so another one doesn't help there), although holding all 4 belts is a decent alternative.

you don´t really make sense. Would any other than Kessler prove anything regarding the claim that he is the best smw out there? Isn´t that what we are talking about?

Lacy gave Calzaghe a big push forward into fame, and he thinks of it as one of his great moments. And wba&wbc champ Kessler is an unproved fighter, he would get knocked for?

"I´ve heard" = done deal? Ok, i have to write that down. My english is worse than i thought.. I´m very sorry, then i´ve got it all wrong.

WTF are you talking about? That's just gibberish.

This forum's for boxing fans, not 13 year old girls with a tattoo fetish, so **** off out of it.

What else can u expect from Calzaghe? he NEVER has had any interest in unifying and cleaning out the division, which is why he also never had Sven Ottke on his wishlist...and he's using the same excuse not to fight Kessler, "oh, he's not American so it's not a big fight"...Calzaghe maybe has a point about Kessler's popularity over here, but if Kessler were to become a big name over here Calzaghe still would duck him...and i wish Hopkins would take Calzaghe at 175 because even the old Hop would whip that ass...and Calzaghe still is scared of Roy Jones, even after Jones being KTFO 2x...he doesn't mention Jones, and he can't say that Jones still isn't a big name fight...Calzaghe is scared to fight real challenges period...

Winky and Taylor are bigger names than Kessler, IMO. I would prefer Calzaghe to fight either of them a head of Kessler. Since these fights aren't gonna materialise any time soon, it more or less looks like its going to be Kessler early next year.

Nope - coz as Calzaghe made it clear he's not interested in Kessler.

It's gonna be Manfredo, Green, Joppy or someone else who fits the criteria of being both american and relatively easy fights.

He's calling retirees and middles while ignoring the most obvious.
In just about every international boxing forum there's been polls about who ppl want Calzaghe to fight next. I think each and every one has pointed towards Kessler as a clear favourite.
But of course that means feck all to Calzaghe.

BS - obviously refering to rumours and speculation

In this case - apart from your little gang - it's clear he'll catch a lot more flack for fighting anyone OTHER than Kessler.
