As opposed to Kessler's defences which have been against rugby (and not even the proper version) players and two old guys looking for one last pay day. And they're the "names" on his record.

My god, how could Kessler's ***** slate Calzaghe's record?

Fighting a old man whom was given ten days to drop down from LHW to 168lbs,
      ****ing great

      And Jeff Lacy

Joe just beat a young kid, who held a title for a year and a half and can't even spell the words adjust, change gameplan, plan b, or move my ****ing head out the way

You take a look at Calzaghe's resume and then name me another pound for pound entrant who has achieved less. He talks about equalling Hopkins record of defences, as if it's comparable? He thinks his string of WBO mandatories (an organistaion that moved a guy up their rankings after he was dead)

He claims to have been dodged by Jones, Hopkins, Tarver etc, but if he relies on Frank Warren to offer them chump change, then wtf does he expect. Nigel Benn said it best; "take less money to take on the big fight and prove your point!".

When do you see Big Joe doing that? Look for Calzaghe vs. Manfredo at a cinema near you!

        Richie Woodhall
        Robin Reid
        Chris Eubank
        Charles Brewer

        Kessler:
        Dingaan Thobela
        Manny Siaca
        Anthony Mundine
        Marcus Beyer
        Eric Lucas

Kessler has upped his competition lately, but hasn't fought anyone as good as Jeff Lacy or a prime Robin Reid.
allright.. I think most sane people on this board would agree to who the TWO best smw fighters are - right?

Everything I wrote about "Calzaghe not tryin to take on the best out there".. I would eat my words if Calzaghe steps up to the challenge, and gives "cleaning up the division" a try for once.

But... Calzaghe seems to want to avoid a big unification yet again - And that sucks. Your head must be halfway up his arse, if you agree to him being the best in the world, without him going for the four belts.

        I wouldn´t be surprised...

Calzaghe first won his title against Chris Eubank. Kessler first won his title against Manny Siaca. Only in his last 5 fights has Kessler started to step up.
Calzaghe unified against the ultra hyped Jeff Lacy, who was expected to KO Calzaghe (according to most of the septics anyway). Kessler unified against a past it Marcus Beyer who had previously been stopped by Glenn Catley and beaten by the great Cristian Sanavia.

Kessler has never faced anyone as good as Robin Reid at his best, and has never faced anyone as brutal as Jeff Lacy or Byron Mitchell. Kessler's claim to fame before the Beyer fight was beating Anthony Mundine, who was KTFO by Sven Ottke of all people and wouldn't have lasted five rounds with Calzaghe.

Hang on...........Calzaghe unified with Jeff Lacy, a man who was hyped up to the max. That doesn't seem to suggest that Calzaghe wants to avoid the best.

Pre-Calzaghe Jeff Lacy > Kessler in terms of who seemed/seems the tougher fight, and Calzaghe fought him, beat him, humiliated him.

You are right, he did, and it only took 9 years before he found a champ he wanted to risk fighting..

The other belts were occupied by Sven Ottke, who wouldn't fight Joe.

And you think Kessler is the same kind of fighter?
-rating Lacy over Kessler is your future problem dude..
All of your posts in this thread, has been nothing but ****..

No, no, no. Calzaghe ducked Ottke. The Danes told me, so it must be true.
