[QUOTE]Hatton proved strong before the Tszyu fight, but I think he got bumbed up to some type of Superman strength because he held his own with Tszyu....But was that because he was as strong or was that because Tszyu wasn't young and seemed to be drained for the fight? I always take this into consideration, especially if I have to make a prediction for a fight...each fight has different circumstances and if you overlook them, you will not be able to make the best prediction you could make...I am also not sure if it was the way Hatton held Tszyu, since when Tszyu got his hands loose in one of the rounds, despite looking like he ran the 10 mile, he threw Hatton down to the mat with no problem, out of fustration.
Serious discussion thread for Mayweather-Hatton...

Hatton, though he can be exciting to watch, showed that even a moderately skilled mover, such as Collazo, can give him fits. Collazo was the first non-faded boxer he faced and it was a close enough fight to have gone either way. It made, to me, for a more interesting fight than I had ever seen him in before. Without Parris or Vann there to ignore his fouling stlye he exposed himself in a minor way.
Floyd walks all over Hatton, regardless of the weight division. I think it would be a one-sided fight almost on par with Wright-Trinidad. Floyd would be constantly moving and demolishing Hatton with handspeed and footspeed.
Floyd by easy UD.Comment

I have to agree with you. Hatton seemed befuddled when Collazo started jabbing from the outside & throwing combos. I could see Mayweather systematically breaking him down starting with his jab. Hatton's best bet is to try to get inside on Mayweather but he's going to have to risk getting countered alot. Midway through the Hatton/Collazo fight Hatton was very gunshy & seemed discouraged & when I watched that I couldn't imagine what Mayweather would've done to him.Comment

and magee gave him more trouble than collazo imoComment

I have to agree to a certain extent with you too. But I also think that a good stiff jab will throw Hatton off of his rhythm which Collazo was able to do for the most part.Comment

I mean, on the other side of the coin, I'm not saying that Collazo's boxing DIDN'T give Hatton problems... I'm just saying we can't really tell from one fight, there's too many variables. I'd like to see him at 147 again with an orthodox boxer just to get a real feel on it.Comment

I see no way Hatton beats Floyd at any weight. I don't think Hatton can hurt Floyd. Floyd can adjust easily. He's not some big welterweight like a Carlos Baldomir. At 140 I think Hatton would get embarassed. It won't be a Gatti-Mayweather but if Hatton has nothing that can bother Floyd then Floyd cruises with a decision or a TKO if Hatton gets cut or swells up.Comment

I think Hatton is underrated these days because he had some trouble in his last outing. I have news for you naysayers, when you're an aggressive fighter like Hatton, when you're moving into another guy's punches, you are going to have some tough fights. Just because he didn't go through Collazo like a hot knife through butter doesn't mean Mayweather will beat him. Two different fighters with different styles.
Personally I think Hatton has the perfect style to be competitive with Mayweather and couldn't care less how he did vs. Collazo.
I won't say who will win, but it will be a very close fight and likely go the distance.Comment
