Floyd Mayweather Jr disses Sugar Ray Leonard

Exactly. Which is why even if Floyd did beat the Hattons and Cottos of this world he'd never be as good as he wants to think he is.
Floyd's a good boxer, but I get pissed off about hearing he's the "greatest ever" for fighting Gatti and a shot Sharmba Mitchell.Comment

Wilfred Benitez is about as close as you're going to come, IMO. I'll give Floyd credit for being a better defensive wizard than many have seen in some time; but Benitez was no slouch. Ray had to take his time and be patient in that fight; but proved he could do it....and would against Mayweather as well. Ray's as fast and too strong....and better at improviazation.Comment

Floyd is one of the best defensive fighters of this modern era and im not just making that up, floyds intelligence in the ring is right up there with leonards, this is an even match.Comment

Thats absolutely true, I have read this in Muhammad Ali's book about his life, written by Hana Yasmeen Ali, The third daughter of Muhammad Ali - Ali tells about how he wanted a autograph of Robinson but he denied it, later on when Ali was a champion he told this to Robinson that if he remembers a kid wanting his autograph and he denied it, well that kid was him, he told Robinson and Robinson felt sorry.
"Legend also has it that one day, a young aspiring boxer walked into Robinson's restaurant in Harlem and asked for an autograph. When the young child asked for an autograph, Robinson supposedly denied it, and the kid was so frustrated according to the legend, and he swore never to deny anyone an autograph if he ever became a champion. That young kid was Cassius Clay, better known as Muhammad Ali."
"Legend has it that when Ali was a kid he was once denied a autograph from his idol Sugar Ray Robinson and vowed that when he became famous, he would never turn anyone down. "Comment

Floyd is good defensively. But you should check out some fights of Wilfredo Benitez, he literely could stand in front of a fighter and make them miss and this include Hearns and Leonard.Comment

Benitez is a legend so i can agree there, ive seen many of his fights, but the fact is we dont know, i give leonard the slight edge over floyd, but leonard isnt gonna blast him out like everyone claims.Comment

Floyd would beat Hatton, Cotto, Mosley, DLH and it would'nt matter because people would say:
1. Hatton was already exposed by Collazo
2. Cotto was ready to be exposed, he got hurt against Torres and Corley
3. DLH is out of his prime, Floyd fought shot fighters
4. Mosley had to drop weight, he was weight drained, etc or some other excuse.
Floyd is easily the best boxer out there, therefore there is a reason for him being P4P #1, I truly believe he will go down as one of the greatests once he retires, he already has beaten some guys, and he says he will fight for another 10 years if he has too, he would make a great resume.Comment

No argument on the talent of Floyd; but ....DLH is out of his prime; that's not an excuse....and for that matter, so is Mosley.Floyd would beat Hatton, Cotto, Mosley, DLH and it would'nt matter because people would say:

Hatton at 140, I think could have given Floyd a match. Cotto, no.Comment
