Floyd is an absolute moron for saying stuff like this, but you morons who say Duran or SRL would murder Floyd are just plain ignorant, literally just plain ignorant. Go back and watch some f***ing film. Could either of them have beaten Floyd? Of course they could have, nut murder Floyd, cmon now you're just being ignorant. Now Tommy Hearns is a completely different story, WW was his first weight class and he was just and absolute freak WW and a nightmare matchup for ANY WW. Hearns would decapitate ANY welterwieight on the planet today. He'd blow Manny away in 3 rounds, and would have a damn good chance at stopping Floyd too. Yes I am well aware that SRL TKO'd Hearns, I've watched the fight a million times, but if we're talking about today, where boxing matches are only 12 rounds, Hearns was probably winning that fight by 4 or 5 rounds.

No he wouldn't.
It's irritating when this comes up because people just don't get that a 15 round fight is different from a 12, do you really think that Leonard would have fought the same fight if it was 12 instead of 15 ?. Absolutely not.
I'm not saying he would win either, no one knows obviously, trying to say it's a fact that Hearns would beat Leonard in a 12 rounder is just silly.
Everything would be different in how they fought.Comment

Much to the point of squashing every doubt or question about why the boxers of yesteryears are tougher than today's boxers, there's your answer.Comment

Mayweather still think it is just about boxing. And even if we exclusively talk about boxing, I don't think he can compete in the same competition of Hagler, Hearns, Duran era.
But back to integrity and attitude...him dissing the old greats this way. Wow, I have been a fan of Mayweather (boxing-wise) but really he is pushing people away from him.
Arrogance have seeped into every fiber of his being and every crevice of his essence...I don't know if he's ever going to take a loss but one thing I know if he ever losses to Pacquiao (if that fight will ever happen), we know who is jumping off the cliff the very next day.
And it won't be Pacquiao.Comment

that was so old!Oct 24 - Floyd Mayweather Jr disses Sugar Ray Leonard
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In a recent article by Brian Doogan for the Times Online, Doogan quotes Sugar Ray Leonard from a recent boxing awards dinner in Vegas. Sugar Ray, talked openly about the way Floyd Mayweather Jr., acted and treated him at the event.
The Legendary Sugar Ray said he was approached by Mayweather Jr., and Mayweather Jr. began to berate him for losing to a lightweight (another legend, Roberto Duran) when he was in his prime. Sugar Ray recalls at that time smiling
and shaking his head ruefully.
Sugar Ray said: “He said, ‘Ray, you know, if you were in my era you wouldn’t be in the top 10’.
Sugar Ray had compliments and strong advice for Mayweather Jr., adding: “Of all the fighters today, I have to say that Mayweather reminds me the most of me. The kid has every gift and physical attribute, but if he continues to be the type of person he is, he’ll never be up there with us. He’ll never make it."
i took this from boxden....who took it from dog house....
if this is true, floyds an *******....
if this has been posted...hit delete bpp.Comment

If PBF did do and say those things and it was not in a joking manner than that is some @sshole type of stuff.
I will never knock a man for saying they are greatest cause I can't get on a man for the opinion he has of himself. But that was some ****** **** to say and do to Ray Leonard!
On second thought maybe PBF felt like G.W. Bush that ****er Saddam went after my father (Ray Leonard beat the brakes off Sr.) Bush was like **** it I'm gonna get this ****er for my daddy(PBF talking **** to Ray to get him out of retirement so PBF can get revenge for his daddy). Just saying its possible.
For all the b!tches that thought about complaining that last paragraph was a complete joke!!Comment
