Yeah, but only 2 guys have ever moved up from middle to hw and won a belt. It will go down in history. That's something people will not forget. Calzaghe isn't popular in the US, so beating him really does nothing for Hopkins...

Hopkins has a chance with Calzaghe but none against Maskaev. Maskaev is ten times more of a challenge.

I hate how people talk about Calzaghe like he's Jesus. Everybody and their mother is ducking Joe C.

You people actually think the hopkins vs maskaev will draw more buyrate then hopkins vs calazghe? lol come on people get real. Didn't people forgot that rahman vs maskaev 2 draw 60,000 ppv buys? lol. If hopkins wants to make history then why don't he challenge the 7 foot giant the wba champion? thats way bigger then very slow weak chin of maskaev. Or better yet why don't hopkins challenge wlad? or sergei? but why maskaev? who has maskaev beat beside overrated one hit wonder rahman ? and
Real and i mean real boxing fans will know that hopkins will be the favorite to beat maskaev. You people talk about a middleweight moving to heavyweight well didn't hopkins fight tarver at light heavyweight? lol. I'm willing to make a bet that hopkins vs maskaev on ppv will draw under 300,000 buys. And i'm also willing to bet that hopkins will be the favorite to beat maskaev.

How is that not going to do nothing for hopkins? he be the only man that could end calazghe undefeated streak and if hopkins move down to sm he could end calazghe 19 defense and it will ruined calazghe chance of try to tie hopkins record of 20 defense. Hopkins could be the underdog in the calazghe fight but hopkins will not be the underdog if he fight the paper heavyweight champion in maskaev. If hopkins really wants to make history to be the heavyweight champion then he should fight wlad or the giant valuev. Valuev vs hopkins would be something to watch. But hopkins vs maskaev? lol come on.
