The one big problem I have is Hopkins is fighting Oleg, and if he wins, he will retire without fighting a better Heavyweight like WLAD, kind of like how Roy didn't face Lewis.
good points but these guys moving up to the heavyweight divison like Roy did and as Hopkins looks like doing are hand picking the easy champions who they got a chance vs Ruiz and Oleg, i know we would love to have seen LEWIS THE REAL MAD AT THE time vs ROY jones but really it would have been a total mismatch same with hopkins vs WLAD they would have got destroyd only my judgement so you cant blame roy and hopkins for the choice in fighters at heavy

Oleg will have no credit beating Hopkins.

I must admit it is pretty cowardly for Hopkins to have is eyes set only on the weakest of the four champions.

I will give him credit depending on his performance, but after beating him, it's not extraordinary.

So you agree...they are taking advantage of the system which is bull****...Roy didn't fight Lewis, just like Hopkins isn't going to fight Wlad, because they would get their head taken off.

I think it was a ***** move for Roy to call himself a "Heavyweight Champion" without fighting THEE HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION, which was Lennox Lewis

Lewis did his fair share of ducking too. These days all we have is paper champions.

I dont blame Bernard for picking a heavyweight to fight and I certainly dont blame him for taking the undisputed weakest of the four beltholders.

But...call it like it really is...Calzaghe is far too risky with far too little reward.

In terms of the biggest fight in the boxing community it is certainly Hopkins v. Calzaghe...your kidding yourself Bernard if you think the boxing world would rather see you fight Maskeav.

Its all about risk and reward.

Rahman proves he's overrated and prove that the lucky 1 punch ko og lewis in the first fight was a fluke. Maskeav suck, he lost to a bum name sanders the same sanders that will face tyson in a 4 rounder. And hopkins is an idiot and liar, he said he will be the underdog in the maskeav fight nope wrong answer, hopkins will easily be the favorite. Hopkins i bet will be the underdog if he fight calazghe. I hate to say it but it sounds like hopkins is afraid to fight calazghe.

I think Calzaghe would be the more difficult opponent for Hopkins. All these years that Calzaghe and Hopkins have been titlists 8 pounds apart and never fought has to say something.

People will bring up the question of what does more for the 'legacy' of Hopkins, beating Calzaghe or Maskaev. Alot of people will say Maskaev soley for the fact that he's a heavyweight titlist but I dont agree because everybody knows that winning one of the heavyweight belts now is not anything the same as when it was doen for real in the past. Calzaghe has had a much better career than Maskaev, he's undefeated, he been on top for like a decade and will be somebody remember retrospectively 10, 15, 20 years from now.
