Hopkins: 'Calzaghe Not Bigger Fight Than Maskaev'

WBA/WBC super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler may be the happiest man in boxing after hearing that Bernard Hopkins would not come out of retirement to face IBF/WBO super middleweight Joe Calzaghe. [details]

He just wants the status of being middleweight and heavyweight champ.

Technically a win over Calzaghe would mean much more than a win over Maskaev, but the heavyweight belt is what makes that fight worth while.

It's funny how everybody is thinking Joe is the more dangerous fight...I would love to see the fight with Joe vs Bernard, but Oleg is a Heavyweight, with Heavyweight power, who if you didn't noticed, just knocked out Rahman in his last fight, so that is a challenge.

The one big problem I have is Hopkins is fighting Oleg, and if he wins, he will retire without fighting a better Heavyweight like WLAD, kind of like how Roy didn't face Lewis.
