his descent is puerto rican, was raised in guaynabo, puerto rico, hes puerto rican. regardless of the fact u dont want to see it that way. Im light skinned so im white? no im a mix of salvadorean and dominican descent......puerto rican isnt a race. Im considered black because my traits say so. nationality and race arent the same thing. My mom was born in puerto rico, but it doesnt matter, shes still black by way of traits/features. By the laws of science, race isnt classified by nationality, its classified by natural traits, "Puerto Rican" isnt a natural trait.Comment

Calderons "negroid" features dominate enough to qualify him as being black. Puerto rican ISNT a race. El Salvadorian ISNT a race, La ********** Dominicana ISNT race, those are all countries. Countries who have a combination of Native Indian/Black/White, some combinations dominate more than other. Your light skinned? That means certain caucasion traits dominate over Native Indian/Negroid traits that you may have, it doesnt make you white altogether, but there is a reason why "hispanics" used to be classified as whites.
Roberto Clemente used to talk all the time about his place as black man playing baseball in america, does that mean a hero in puerto rican history, WASNT black, even though he himself knew it?
I was rasied in San Francisco california, does that make my race american? NO. Not even in the slightest. If Edison Miranda tells you hes black (because he is) are you going to say, NO YOUR RACE IS COLUMBIAN? No. You wouldnt.
Ive been to mexico city twice in my life, in those times i saw WHITE mexicans with blonde hair, blue eyes, them being mexican didint excuse them, because mexico is a country, not a race. The latino world is a bunch of mixed races, but some racial features dominate JUST ENOUGH to qualify you for being apart of a specific racial group.Comment

In a sense i am, but splitting hairs or not its not out of the question. I could either look at myself as a "latino" or look at myself as "black", the features i have are defining enough to classify me as black, so thats what i am, and if i said otherwise it would be borderline rediculous because you can CLEARLY look at me know right away.Comment

race is different then country.
There is some mexician that are spanish and some that are Aztecs and some are Mayan...etc. It a mix of cultures now you cant really tell because that place is really mixed up and nobody knows.
Here in Arab culture is much easier because they alway kept the last name and people know from that. but not all the timeComment
