.....puerto rican isnt a race. Im considered black because my traits say so. nationality and race arent the same thing. My mom was born in puerto rico, but it doesnt matter, shes still black by way of traits/features. By the laws of science, race isnt classified by nationality, its classified by natural traits, "Puerto Rican" isnt a natural trait.oh, since you wanna turn this thread into some rediculously ****** argument like you love to do, what race is Edison Miranda? How about David Ortiz of the redsox? How about Vladimir Guerrero of the Angels?
Let me throw another good one, Jarome Iginla of the Calgary Flames, his race must be canadian!
Easy their stallone.
I don't give a damn what they are.
But if they speak spanish, i don't consider them black, regardless of they have black skin, i do consider them of black descent no doubt. Besides rappers, I ain't ever heard a Puerto Rican or Cuban or other spanish/african say he was black. But, if they do then thats cool. Usally Puerto Ricans or Cubans, that are black skinned etc. you get the point, are proud of the country their from boost about their country pride not their african heritage. But thats just what i've noticed, you are an exception to what i descrbed.Comment

In the latin world it is like that, because most of them want to try to fit in with their lighter skinned countrymen for whatever ****** reason, but they are still black. Black people live in france/netherlands/england/etc etc and they are still black weather they want to be or not. Ive never been to africa and i dont plan on going anytime soon. Being black isnt about being african, its about having those features, and if you have them weather you like it or not universally you are black, not african. africa is a place, a continent, not a race. There are quite a few white people in South africa, and angola, they are african, not black. Speaking spanish doesnt make you an exception to the rule.
Having national pride has nothing to do with being what you are racially, boasting about loving puerto rico or cuba has nothing to do with being black, which is why your way of thinking, saying that they ARENT black or you dont consider them black because of this reasoning is false.Comment

Do you have light skin? As in, light black? If so your familly being from Puerto Rico have spanish/african blood. In the latin world it is like that, because most of them want to try to fit in with their lighter skinned countrymen for whatever ****** reason, but they are still black. And if you are black, you are of African descent, Africa is part of your motherland. You can't say you're black and deny Africa as a part of you.Comment

Africa is a place not a race, i didint deny africa, i said im not going to africa anytime soon. If you wanna bring that into it, then Africa is apart of everyones motherland since the earliest humans resided there in the first place, so dont bring that into it.
i TOLD YOU, white people live in africa, people from angola/south africa are very proud to be from there, and by way of being from those countries they are african, which goes back to my point that NATIONALITY ISNT RACE, black people originated in africa, this is correct, but this argument isnt about that, its about nationality NOT meaning race, Puerto Rican ISNT a race, thats my entire point, your not going to dance around it by picking small parts of my paragraph apart.
Im talking about negro traits that classify you as black, sure there is spanish/WHITE blood in me, but it doesnt matter because when people see nappy hair/negro features, your black no matter what, it doesnt matter, because thats the way the world is. You dont all of the sudden stop being black because you speak the spanish language.Comment

the *** argument is tough because scientist havnet decided if *** is its own race or not, i was reading about that the other day. the problem is that there are arab ***s/black ***s/white ***s etc etc, so its hard.Comment
