There is no serious public demand for the fight, the casual fan (and im around ALOT of casual fans), dont know the situation and dont care. The announcers can say what they want, the situation has so many question marks around it, they are just speaking on the speculation, which is there job. Floyd/Tony only becomes important if Tony makes it important, if he can blast out clottey then take out paul williams, THEN it becomes along the lines of Roy/Tarver because floyd will have to awknowledge who Tony is, you see what im saying? Thats how rivalries are born because Tony in all honesty is a nobody right now, and when he makes himself a somebody by beating people in the PUBLIC EYE then it has more meaning.
But if tony loses against clottey it will be gone in the wind, never to be spoken of againComment

Are you talking about the same "Gayweather" that won three National Golden Gloves titles and a bronze medal in the Olympics? The same "Gayweather" claimed the WBC 130 pound title in his 18th bout and defended 8 times? Another title in 2002 with 3 defenses before moving to junior welter? The guy who was a major underdog when he fought Diego Corrales and dropped him five times before stopping him in the tenth? The same "Gayweather" that was supposed to defend to a solid Angel Manfredy after winning his title, but destroyed Angel and won ring Fighter of The Year in 1998. What about destroying N'dou a guy with a 21-fight winning streak with 20 KO's. A guy that was bigger than Mayweather. IMO he has taken on great opposition!! Maybe not the best but when he was supposed to be beaten he has proved people incorrect. Can you blame a guy that is trying to make the most of his money? If you were in his situation you would too! I'm sorry you can hate all you want about blah, blah, blah!!!! I'd like to hear what your major arguement is on why Floyd should fight Gaygarito?Comment

For the sole fact that Floyd came to Tony's division. You can say the real welterweight champ was Zab or Spinks or whoever but theres a reason why they never fought Tony. For years he was KO'ing people and never got a shot. Nowadays u KO Sharmba Mitchell and you're considered the next big thing.
Floyd's career is undeniably far better than Tony's. I agree with you there but to say he's a chump and not take the 8 mil is cowardly. DLH and Mosely both said they werent going to fight this yr. Gatti/Baldi still hadnt fought and the offer was on the table. But nah... tony didnt deserve it right?
I see what Floyd is doing. He's going to outbox Baldi silly, be crowned the "welterweight king", and look great doing it. Smart guy. He wont ever fight Tony cuz Tony has all the tools to end his invincible image. I wouldnt say he's scared but he's not dumb enough to get in the ring with a monster when there's so much more money to be made BEFORE fighting Tony cuz, once again, Tony has all the tool to get the job done, and as u all know, anything can happen in boxing.
As you can see, I'm not bashing anyone and u can disagree and whatever but that's real.

I agree with you to some degree but not really. What tools does Tony have to beat Floyd that Baldomir doesn't. Seriously, Tony destroys Kermit Cintron and he is the king of the division? The most feared man in the division? If they were to fight, what advantages other than relentless attack and power does this guy have? I believe Tony's power is a little overrated. His relentess attack will leave openings. I totally understand your side of the debate. You have great points. I just don't think Floyd is ducking Tony because he's scared. I really think he is seriously getting into the business aspect of this sport and is making what he thinks would be the smartest moves for the publics attention.Comment

Tony has power, working on his speed, throws between 60 - 100 punches a round, and has great stamina. That is a problem for anyone. Yea it leaves him open but floyd doesnt have the power to earn his respect. I see floyd hurting his hands in this fight but yep, floyd is just doin business but u can only do business so long before you have to take care of business. get it?Comment
