Using the Eubank example you brought up, he's been retired about a decade (how would anybody on here of even heard of him?), and America was the only place in the world he could go for some peace and quiet in his fighting days (so even 15 years ago, American's wouldn't of knew who he was). Now I'd start threads about US citizen Hopkins on US internet boards in the late 90's when he was an active US IBF world title holder and nobody would ever reply (honestly - not one reply!).

The example was relevent. When you start to feel desperate in a discussion you start to talk about popularity (which you have no gauge on) and speak like it your take on it is factual.
