I don't want to hear these excuses from fighters saying "I will have to ask my promoter"...When are fans, and the fighter going to realize that the FIGHTER is the one that makes the fights, without him, there are no promoters, there are no television shows for boxing.
Ricky makes the decisions, bottom line.
Lots of fighters leave their fights down to their team.
The one thing I don't like about Hatton is that he doesn't give rematches to Champions (now former)...Tszyu, he said yes, even willing to fight in Australia, then he backs down a bit from that comment and the end was when Billy Graham said "NO rematch, NO need, Tszyu should retire"...Collazo, "NO REMATCH"...WTF is up with that...even Floyd gave Castillo a rematch because it was close and people questioned the victory...the main difference between Floyd and Ricky is that Floyd is a bit more paranoid with how people perceive his Legacy: if you question it, he says "put the MF in front of me and I will beat him...{if he beats the person and there are still questions}... put the MF in front of me again and I will beat him easier"
I wish Ricky was like that, plus, with Ricky's style it makes for more exciting fights.
Ricky said that a fight between him and Floyd would be like "Leonard vs Duran", the only problem with that is Ricky, unlike Duran, if he won the first fight, there wouldn't be a second fight...imagine if Duran didn't give Leonard the rematch, we wouldn't have seen the master performance from the great Ray Leonard..."NO MAS" fight would never have happened.
Give a rematch to Collazo?? WTF? What a complete waste of time. That doesn't make any sense. HBO forced Hatton to move up to welterweight in five or six weeks, Kerry Kayes had to put 7lbs of muscle onto Ricky's frame and he went in there and somehow grinded out the victory with no speed. A rematch would be absolutely pointless unless Collazo wants to move down to 140, then it would make sense.

INCLUDING Floyd Mayweather.
All the fighter has to say is "Make the fight happen", then the promoter/manager's job is to go out and do his best to get both sides to agree to fight.
Fighter's act like they are the ****** of the Promoters/Managers...they got it wrong if this is what is happening to them.
Do you really think that Floyd's promoter wanted the rematch with Castillo?
I don't know, I think Floyd was the one that urged that rematch.
Think Ali, Ali was the one that looked around to see who nobody wanted to fight, like Foreman and Shavers, then he went after that person...of course, he didn't give Foreman a rematch so that was wrong.

Then why would it make sense for Floyd to give Castillo a rematch?
Castillo was the one that came into the fight with the TITLE, he deserves the rematch...the only time I don't care for a rematch is if the fight is a blow-out.
Collazo move down to 140??? hope you are kidding
There is a reason Ricky went back down, to escape from Collazo and the rest of the 147 pound division...I don't blame him
That's ridiculous. More like given a tough fight against an akward southpaw.
"Schooled" is more like Wright winning virtually every round against Trinidad. Collazo tasted the canvas twenty seconds into the fight, and was getting manhandled in the trenches by Hatton.
Close fight, 115-112 Hatton is the right score and if you watch it again you'd have to be biased if you scored it for Collazo.
There's really no way he won 7 rounds, and at no point did he win any given round by a 10-8 margin like Hatton did the first.
Then why would it make sense for Floyd to give Castillo a rematch?

the urango and maussa fights were a waste of time not a collazo re-match
