I think Cotto beats Floyd at 147. At 140 I would have favored Mayweather but no adays it would happen at 147 which I think would favor Cotto. A weight drained 140 pound Cotto is slow, a non-weight drianed Cotto is actually pretty damn fast. Cotto would surprise a lot of people I think. Floyd is beatable and he will lose sooner or later, I think Cotto might be the man to do it.
I think it is funny how you say you favor Cotto over Floyd at 147 but not at 140, when Cotto has never fought at 147 yet.

    And Torres dropped Cotto.
    Sorry.

Mayweather by TKO inside of 9. Cotto is a great fighter there is no doubt about that, but Mayweather would beat him fairly easy based on style. Cotto has no advantages except for power. Floyds power game cannot be compared to Torres. Torres has great one punch power, but doesn't have the handspeed or accuracy to land 3-4 power punches in a row like Floyd does. Once Mayweather has a guy hurt he can finish him by continuing to land punches, something Torres couldn't do. For the record, Mayweather and Cotto are two of my favorite fighters, so no bias.

Isn't that the same thing they were saying about Castillo though? Only difference is that Castillo actually has a hell of a chin, where as Cotto's is rather suspect. After seeing the Castillo Mayweather I fight, my thought's of Mayweather being invincible have ceased. In my eyes, Mayweather has a loss and he IS a beatable fighter. Is Cotto the one to do it? Probably not. But a fighter with endless stamina, decent power and who is able to pressure Mayweather can probably do as good as Castillo did. I love Cotto but he's just not ready for a Mayweather.

          Sorry.
I favor Cotto at 147 because Cotto drains himself to make weight at 140. He wont be at his full potential if he is weight drained. Pretty simple. And I look at it like the more Floyd moves up in weight, the more vulnerable he is. Them good enough reasons?

And Torres didnt "drop" Cotto. It was ruled a knockdown but how can you honestly say Torres dropped him? Honestly. It was clearly a push, anyone with eyes can see that.

So, morales has trouble of making the 130 pound but he look very slow at 135 pounds so whats that tell you?.Just cause cotto drain himself at 140 pound doesn't mean he will do better at 147 pounds, I do give cotto credit though, his 147 pounds debut is against a very difficult slick fighter in quintana.

Yea Morales also started his career at 122 pounds. Successfully moved up to 126 and then successfully moved up to 130. Won 3 world titles in 3 weight divisions. Then looked bad when he moved up to 135 which was his 4th time moving up and towards the end of his career when he is no longer in his prime and has been in all kinds of wars.

Cotto is still young and fresh. Cotto started his career at 140 and is still there. This will be his first time moving up unlike Morales who fought at 3 weight classes.

              How about that?

Right now probably Mayweather. Cotto can hold his own though.

I need to see how Cotto looks at 147. If he looks fluid and adjusted to the weight like he looked early on at 140 I think he'd have a good chance to beat Floyd. Like someone previously mentioned, some fighters balance and overall fighting ability is helped by moving up in weight. With a fighter like Cotto (who is obviously drained at 140 and has been for some time) I think this will be the case. Trinidad looked stronger at 154, so did fighters like Hearns before him, for example.

At this point the obvious safe bet is Mayweather. His speed and great counter punching skills would make Cotto think twice about recklessly coming forward. On the other hand, Cotto is a murderous body puncher...and as elusive as Floyd is...the body doesn't move like the head. I can see Cotto coming through a good amount of punishment to break down Floyd to the body and stop him late. Maybe thats just the Cotto fan in me dreaming.

As much as i like Cotto and Mayweather.. I would say that mayweather could win by UD.. But i would go for Cotto by KO. Cause Mayweather tends to get ****y at times.. and like the ropes.. That would make him pay.. But Mayweather would win by UD. But Cotto could land that one shot.
