Racisim is at its highest in this thread, every year Marciano seems to get rated higher and higher by some people.....any fighter that fights long enough is going to lose.

it has nothin to do with race
the fact is he was not even
                a heavy weight 186 pounds.
so how can you say he was
                one of the greatest heavyweights
another thing is he dominated a
weak divison of has beens and light
heavyweights. plus he got a lucky
break against archie moore when the
ref cheated for him. that should have
been a loss or a no contest on his record
cuz they was not supposed to have a
8 count in that fight. anyone could
look great against old men and lightheavys

Well right now under 200 lbs counts as a cruiserweight. Jack Johnson weighed 192 when he won the heavyweight championship of the world, according to boxrec. So I guess according to your criteria, he was never the heavyweight champion of the world. Are you in favour of pulling Jack Johnson out of the hall of fame? Gee, somehow I think your going to say no.

but his opponents were not small.
                    They were!

But Marciano was smaller which makes his victories against them more impressive.

Maybe Marciano is rated higher than he should be by some people. But there is definately racism flowing in both directions here, and you are failing to recognize that. Marciano is unquestionably a top ten alltime heavyweight, even though he is not the best ever, to say he should be pulled out of the hall of fame is ridiculous and I think that there has to be some racism to say something that extreme.
