I honestly don't see Maskaev getting past Klitschko, Peter's camp wants that fight because it tailors to Peter's style. Maskaev isn't a mobile fighter. Doesnt have a huge repetoir of skills and if given some good pressure by a slugger like peter will crumble. Peter's camp doesn't want to mingle with the Klitschko regime again, He's strong mobile and has some technical skills. So if Peter hopes to gain a world title he has to try to get to Maskaev first and then run from Klitschko for as long as he can. He would probably push a fight with Sergei Liakhovich, to stay away from that fight with Klitschko. Defend his belt (s) against some week manditories.
But yeah he should want Maskaev Now

And on the other hand you have this argument, which has a lot of merit. I agree, Peter has a very good chance against Maskaev.

Wladimir Klitschko is really in a league of his own.

Maskaev KO'd Rahman twice, but Rahman beat up on Toney who was then given a gift decision by the crooked judges (pardon the redundancy!), and Peter just beat Toney in a close fight, so looking at that, Maskaev should be the favorite.

Maskaev has been KOed in the passed...

Peter has never KOed a top fighter either.. so I would say it's a tough fight to predict, although I would give Peter the edge

I'm sorry but I don't see Maskaev winning this fight. Maskaev is much slower than Toney and Wlad, he doesn't have a good defense like Toney and doesn't have the hugging defense that Wlad had used. Maskaev was hit a number of times by Rahman and will get hit by Peter. I think Peter would win this mid rounds.

uhm,,who said his knockout victims were hall of fame caliber? this argument is who's the bigger puncher between maskeav and wlad. you asked me just who wlad has knocked out. I gave you my list of knockout victims all whom of which were top 15 guys at the time wlad stopped them. now for once back up your opinion with your bigger list of maskeav knockout victims.
