It's ashame folks are predicting James Toney to get KO'd within 5 rounds. A guy who hasn't even tasted the canvas legitamately in 15 years is going to crumble because some overrated fat African contender is going to do something 3 current or former world heavyweight champions couldn't.

Weight doesn't really tell you anything. You'd have to see some pictures to know what kind of shape he's really in. I bet Peter was pumping weights hard, so he can lean Toney and try to wear him out quick.

Peter has enough power to knock out anybody if he lands the right punch. I'll pick Toney by UD, but I recognize that Peter could do him in. I think Toney has enough chin, and doesn't get hit clean enough that he'll be able to win on points. He might bust up Peter's face in the process too. Even though Toney doesn't have the same kind of power as a guy like Wlad, his punches come at weird angles, and they come when you don't expect them. Those kinds of punches can hurt a fighter because he's not ready to brace for them.
In a way I agree with u, I think the one thing Klitschko didint do was hit Peter when he was off balance or missed with a punch. I think Toney will take advantage of this because mainly its in his gameplan to do that.

i'd also think Toney might be a little "ring-smarter" than Wlad.. if not that, at least equal.. Toney's biggest advantage is that he's a veteran of the ring

I know one thing, I will be drunk as a skunk, laughing my ass off at the Toney nuthuggers come Saturday night. I wish I could be there in person in each of their homes to see the look on all their faces when their idol is squashed like a bug.

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!

just don't get too bad that you don't recognize who actually wins.. or it could get really embarrassing..

Toney will never have the opportunities that Wlad did. Sam does not have the height or reach to exploit Peter's mistakes from a safe distance. His counterpunches weren't enough to make Rahman take a backward step, and he doesn't have nearly the jaw Peter does. Peter is the heavyhanded sort who doesn't even need much room to do damage. Some of the shots he hit Julius Long with looked like they had nothing on them and they still left him nearly unconscious. True his punches are more potent when they have a bit of distance to travel gain velocity, hence the loop he throws them with, but even Peter pounding on your body in the clinch will hurt. He is that strong. George Foreman strong.

You all will soon see just why Toney was a fool to take this fight.

Guys Toney might have a whole lot of skill, but its going to be useless against Peter. If Rahman was able to land on more than one occasion, than Peter will be able to as well. Although when Peter lands it will be a different effect than when Rahman did.

Guys its the end of the line for Toney new era began when Maskaev became the 4th EEU champ, and it continues with the young blood in Peter.

that makes no sense. Peter has done nothing to deserve being called the hardest puncher in the division, but Toney has proven his chin is among the best in the world. completely useless post.
