257 is a good weight for Peter here. Look for him to blow Toney out earlier than I thought. I'm changing my prediction from eight rounds to four. This is obviously not a lapse in training on his part; he's actually been training harder to put on more muscle! Samuel Peter is such a hard worker!!

By Karl Freitag at the scales

Heavyweight contenders James Toney and Samuel Peter weighed in today for Saturday's heavyweight elimination bout at Staples Center in Los Angeles. Toney weighed in at 233, a few pounds less than he weighed for his previous fight against Hasim Rahman. Peter weighed in at 257. After the stare down both fighters became embroiled in a shouting match to the delight of the many fight fans who came out to see the event. Order was quickly restored and now the table is set for another excellent matchup SHOWTIME championship boxing this weekend.
peter is a joke coming in that heavy. he deserves to lose this fight and probably will

a lot of people are going to run you out of here come Saturday since you've made yourself seem so sure Peter, a lousy heavyweight with an overrated punch and zero skill, is going to walk over one of the top 2 or 3 most skilled fighters on the planet who has an iron chin and doesn't get hit much anyway.

I agree. A lot of fans say Peter was fat. But he is not lazy, he is just big and strong. No lazy boxer can go twelve rounds and throw bomb after bomb.
They also say he has no jab, which would mean he seriously throws power punches all the time. Wouldn't work if he was fat.

I strongly disagree. his quickness and stamina are his weak points and him coming in this heavy will only increase the problem

I know i'm not saying Peter is fat, but you look at how inaccurate/not technical the man is and you think Toney's going down within 12 minutes???

Foreman was less technical than Frazier.

                    man, use your head...

nobody even had 1/10th of the punching power that peter has..

if peter lands ONE punch on toney, it's good night...

i can't wait till toney gets ktfo n ppl realise how overrated he is

not to mention peter has failed to knockout the mighty shufford,,,pudar and hawkins. that doesnt exactly make it likely that he'll be able to stop toney. how people think it will be that easy is beyond me. peter is extremely strong physically but his punches are clubbing and lack snap. a knockout in this fight is very unlikely and if peter goes ape for one early he's going to look ridiculous in the later rounds
