Why Floyd will never be the greatest boxer of all time...

If Floyd takes on Hatton, DLH, Mosley, Winky and Taylor and wins them all, he is the greatest of all time.

and easily I might add. I don't think it's debatable any longer if Mayweather beats all those names.

Mosley is past it, ODLH is way over the hill, Taylor is only a solid champion at middleweight, nothing special so far, Hatton is a good solid win, and so is Winky.

None of these guys are prime Jake LaMotta level opponents. Beating them all will further Mayweather's legacy, but he wouldn't even be a top five fighter IMO. Guys like Greb, Benny Leonard, Ray Leonard, Robinson, Armstrong, Duran, Ezzard Charles, were all greater P4P than a hypothetical Mayweather who beats the guys you listed.

Mosley and DLH have proved that they are still very sharp, and they are bigger opponents.
Winky and Taylor are both great wins, e****ially for a guy starting at 135.
If he wins those fights and retires undefeated he is the greatest of all time.

Ok at this point in the thread I had to ask myself, do these people really think he could beat Taylor or Wright.... seriously guys, if he does FANTASTIC! He would be in top 3 of all time.... but really guys Wright at 154 hed have to be like 8 to 1 underdawg... or should be but people are hung up on PBF. and at 160 vs Taylor I think Floyd would get battered and put him at 10 maybe 12-1 dog...... against these 2 the odds are very very very low in his favor. He would lose alot of speed goin to 154 and TONS going to 160. Not to mention Wright is a very sturdy fighter and Taylor hits very hard. PBF beating Wright and Taylor.... top 3 of all time, but thats like saying if he beats Wlad hes GOAT.... its not going to happen, im sorry.

A win over Taylor at 160 is maybe 5x bigger accomplishment then Hatton at 140. A win over Wright at 154 is 5x bigger then Hatton at 140, Wright at 160 is 6x bigger then Hatton at 140.

I think he could beat many at 154, as long as he gets comfortable at that weight.
If he beat Taylor at 160 it would shock me.

mayweather beats none of the top guys at 154 exept for maybe spinks. he would have to really pick and choose. whitaker is twice the fighter floyd is, and even he had to pick and choose once he moved up to 154 (julio cesar vazquez).

I could see Mayweather beating Wright at 154 but Taylor at 160 is almost an impossibility in my book. If Mayweather beats Taylor at 160 (after beating everybody at 147 and 154 that he has to), then he's the G.O.A.T., and that's the bottom line.

I think that Winky at 154 is a very tough fight for Foyd, I think Winky is no 2. p4p for a very good reason & if it wasn't for Floyd he'd be no.1 in my book. If Floyd looked good at 160 then I think he could beat Taylor, I honestly think Winky's a tougher challenge IMHO, the only negative factor(& it a big one) for Floyd against Taylor is the weight.

LOL. What a joke. Old time fans never want to credit anyone or anything modern, no modern fighter could ever live up to their boyhood idols. Well guess what, OUR FIGHTERS ARE JUST AS GOOD.

I'll put a prime Roy, prime Pernell, prime Floyd, prime Tyson, prime Toney, up against any of your prime fighters, and like my chances. Your fighters are not better than ours, you just built them up a lot better than we did. I've seen plenty of tapes of Ali, and seen him go to war with BUMS -- I respect him and think he's the greatest, but a prime Tyson would give him hell regardless of what you fantasize about...I saw Ali lose twice to Ken Norton ( in my view) and Norton fought like an awkward doofus, I saw a club fighter Chuck Wepner take Ali 15 rounds and be virtually unfazed by his power. The difference between me and the old fight fans is that I know that doesn’t take away from Ali, but if a modern fighter has problem in a fight and doesn’t dominate completely, then it’s “XYZ fighter is so much better, he would have destroyed this guy”.

I have no ill towards the old fighters because I can see their greatness, but the same can't be said about older fight fans towards modern fighters. Older fight fans are disrespectful, arrogant, and degrading towards modern fighters and fans and I'm sick of it.

If Floyd can beat DLH, Mosley, Margarito, Cotto, Hatton, he'll be legitimately one of the greatest of all time....so stop the bull****, and stop detracting from things Floyd hasn't even done yet.
