Everybody always talks about the tragedy that could have been Taylor. One more punch and Taylor would have been in serious pain or unconcuios. You've heard of fighters die in the ring, either during or after a fight. You shouldn't forget that Taylor pissed blood for a week or the punishment he took during the fight. You want to glorify Taylor but don't forget it was Chavez that made Taylors face look all bruised up and knocked him down. Chavez wanted a rematch, just like he wanted a rematch with Whitiker. I dont know why Taylor didn't fight him sooner rather then later, but i know Whitiker didn't want to fight Chavez again cause Whitiker wanted Chavez to first admit that he lost Chavez is an all-time great figher and thats no bs. Their was nothing wrong with Richard Steele stopping that fight.

          It was a draw

Whitiker fouled a whole lot in that fight to slow down Chavez. Plus, Chavez had been a bit battle worn. And as i said Whitiker didn't want the rematch.

Now ppl say he wasnt poast his prime but you guyz dont realize he came into the ring with a record of 97-1-1 even if u have been fightihing bums if u fought the way chavez fought u would get hit alot cuz chavez was a fighter that loved to brawl. After 99 fights ur not the same u dont have the reflexes u once had. and at those lower weigh classes that means alot.

Bunch of no knowledge jackasses either that or haters.

Go look at any fighter who has 100+ fighst and your gonna find more bums than good fighters. Your not going to have 80 megafights. He wasn't fighting these guys for glory he was fighting to stay busy and keep sharp most of those fights weren't even on TV.

Lots of good tough guys on his record like Juan La Porte, Rodger Mayweather, Rueben Castillo, Jose Luis Ramirez, Greg Haugen.

Big time fights with Rosario and Taylor.

So what he lost to Whitiker. Last I check Pete was an all time great and one of the two greatest defensive fighters whoever lived.

and are people really trying to talk about the Tszyu and DLH fights?

lets exam this c+ b- fighter (if gatti fought his opposition he would probably have the same record other then hector camacho)

he fought Ramon Aramburu who was 0-0 as a champ, Roberto Collins Lindo 1-12,Akwei Addo 5-3,Ignacio Pedromo 1-0,Dwight Pratchett 12-6? what kind of resume is this for a SO CALLED all time great?

lets exam the LIVE fighters he faught and what happen..meldrick taylor you can argue that chavez lost every round until the last knockout meldrick taylor wasnt a smart fighter and he didnt have power if he was smart he would have just been on his bike that last round if he had power he would have dropped chavez with all those punches

de la hoya best fighter chavez faught..chavez was early 30s when he fought de la hoya..dont give me that "well past prime" **** that you tards like to throw around on this forum..holyfield is well past his prime..hearns is well past his prime..chavez just moved up in weight and faced a real fighter and not "rocky lockridge"..de la hoya brutally rapped chavez..and the chavez who faught mayorga would brutally **** the chavez that fought de la hoya back then!

tszyu..brutally ****d chavez eventhough ill ignore that go because he was now finally past his prime

frankie randall..quick fighter B+ fighter, no floyd mayweather..chavez was so frustarted that he had to result to throwing low blows serveral times

pernell whitaker..in that fight chavez didnt win a round after the 5th

Man all you guys are either racists against Mexicans or just plain haters because Chavez IS and IS CONSIDERED a LEGEND. He had one of the best winning undefeated streaks in boxing history. So what if he fought a bunch of no names, doesn't mean that they aren't good. Remember, even Floyd Gayweather was a no name at 6-0, but turned out to be 36-0 (by running). So even if Chavez fought a no name, IT DOESN'T MEAN THEY AREN'T GOOD! Now anybody more who talks **** about Chavez is either a racists to Mexicans, a Meldrick Taylor fan, or just a plain hater who has nothing more to do than talk a bunch of bogus **** about one of the best fighters in history, because if you are a true Mexican than you know Chavez is one of the best fighters ever in history. NOW WHAT BITCHES???!!!!!!
