Compa, you are right, a lot of these posters didn't see a prime Chavez. They didn't see him going through the divisions like it was nothing.

And as it has happened in the past FOURMS I've been at, its finally happening here....now people are admitting that Chavez KO of Taylor, left them with a hate in their mind of Chavez. You always left the ring knowing you were in a fight when you fought "El Leon de Culiacan!"

He fought everyone that was available, who did he duck?
th point is he did fight some non elite fighters but that was because he was fighting 6 damn fights a year, and their isnt even that much elite competition to fight. hate as much as you want but he was a warrior who ducked no one, not even once he was way past hims prime.
As mentioned his true losses were against sweat pea and randall, one's an all time great like himself with the perfect style to beat him and one caught him on an of night, EVERYONE has them.

I dont blame Chavez for that at all, its not his fight, and if you saw my post i also mentioned his notable wins over Camacho (a puerto rican hero in my household), and Mayweather who quit on his stool to prove he did fight elite competition. But that Taylor fight just wasnt fair, thats no fault of Chavez, but I had to take my dislike out on someone, and yes, to this day i cant stand richard steele, trust me.

The build up for his fight with Camacho was something else. Camacho just woundn't stop talking ****. People also seem to forgot that Chavez was the underdog in alot of his fights. This crap about Chavez fighting nothing but bums is total crap, Chavez would fight more than 5 times a ****en year. Those bums you guys say Chavez faced all happened in Mexico while Chavez faced the eilte and top contenders in the US. Chavez's championship record alone was better than alot of the top fighters records during that time, and if that isn't great to any of you than I don't what is....

When you fight every 2 months your gonna have more bad records than good. He never turned down a fight with anyone that was up and coming or on a hot streak at the time.Just about everyone he fought in his P4P reign was considered dangerous and able to beat him.Point IS in his PRIME he would have given any all-time great a hell of a fight, not to many fighters you can could beat him.
I guess people like fighters who fight every 6 to 12 months with hand picked opponents.PLEASE...

Dont say "you guys", i never said chavez fought nothing but bums. My own personal gripe about the Whitaker/Taylor fights are not to be confused with taking something away from Chavez overall. I DO NOT consider him top 15 p4p alltime, more like top 20, but thats my opinion.

I understand, that Camacho fight was a mutha****a because Camacho was talkin all that **** and got manhandled for the entire fight, Camacho tried to box and move but it meant nothing.
