examining julio chavez's career: he was a champion fighting guys with losing records.

lets all exam the overrated julio "taxi cab driver beater" chavez he's one of the ONLY FIGHTERS in history to fight guys with losing records, a guy who never had a fight as a pro, or a guy who has more loses then wins as a champion!

lets exam this c+ b- fighter (if gatti fought his opposition he would probably have the same record other then hector camacho)

he fought Ramon Aramburu who was 0-0 as a champ, Roberto Collins Lindo 1-12,Akwei Addo 5-3,Ignacio Pedromo 1-0,Dwight Pratchett 12-6? what kind of resume is this for a SO CALLED all time great?

lets exam the LIVE fighters he faught and what happen..meldrick taylor you can argue that chavez lost every round until the last knockout meldrick taylor wasnt a smart fighter and he didnt have power if he was smart he would have just been on his bike that last round if he had power he would have dropped chavez with all those punches

de la hoya best fighter chavez faught..chavez was early 30s when he fought de la hoya..dont give me that "well past prime" **** that you tards like to throw around on this forum..holyfield is well past his prime..hearns is well past his prime..chavez just moved up in weight and faced a real fighter and not "rocky lockridge"..de la hoya brutally rapped chavez..and the de la hoya who faught mayorga (older then chavez was when they fought) would brutally **** the chavez that fought de la hoya back then!

tszyu..brutally ****d chavez eventhough ill ignore that go because he was now finally past his prime

frankie randall..quick fighter B- fighter at his best, no floyd mayweather..chavez was so frustarted that he had to result to throwing low blows serveral times

pernell whitaker..in that fight chavez didnt win a round after the 5th

Chavez fought some of the best cab drivers in the history of boxing. His first 40 or 50 fights was with A Class cabby drivers.

Dino why do u hate chavez so much?

Maybe is cuz u wish u had a carraer like him and not be an internet loser that doesnt lose a chance to bash on Chavez.....

By the way it wasnt that taylor didnt hit hard why chavez didnt get droped it was cuz of chavez's ability to take a punch.

In your last statement you are too right to be wrong! I felt for Whitaker.

If you have checked Chavez when he first appeared on TV for the world, even his record was obscure. Suddenly we had a guy with an almost perfect record and nobody knew anything about him before that.

        Check it out!!!

I remember watching the Randall fight, one of the commentators said that Randall is not one of the usual cab drivers Chavez often fights.

But let's be serious here, Chavez beat a prime Meldrick Taylor. Whether he lost 11 1/2 rounds, it doesn't matter. He beat him so bad that Taylor was never the same person again. Ali would lose round after round as long as he was slowly chopping down his opponent that by the end of the fight, it was just only him throwing the punches.

Chavez lost to Whitaker. There is no question. Even Sports Illustrated had a cover with them and a large text "ROBBED!"

Oscar was just too young, too fast for an aging Chavez. Chavez had already lost to Randall, had a war with Meldrick and was in his 30's. For a fighter at that weight class, that's old.

I think a prime Chavez would have had a war with a prime Kostya. Maybe even win.
