  • would boxing be better if carlos baldomir beats floyd?

what the topic says, do u see floyd beign a DLH/SRL typr guy who can brng people in the sport later on, or would a real cinderella story like bladomir catch more attention and be better for boxing if he beat floyd

I don't know what's better for the sport, but I know it can be dangerous to think like that. Remember when the media used to insists it was better for the NBA when the Lakers reached the Finals; remember the free throw debacle of '02 against the Kings. I know this seems off topic but my point is root for the fighters, not the sport.

eventually, someone will beat floyd...even today, with all these baloney fights against club fighters, no one stays undefeated for their whole career anymore. even floyd can have a bad night

better for boxing? that i can't say, but i can say if Baldy beats Floyd it would be a bigger upset than Buster beating Tyson. at least to me.

at the time Tyson was setting himself up for a fall, Floyd is one of the hardest training and focused fighter in recent years and he's on top of his game, for him to lose against Baldomir that would be massive.

and it can happen, but the odds are totally stacked against Baldomir.

i think i will be great for boxing.

Even if mayweather loses, he could still bring fans to boxing because he probably will still fight mosley, and he most definelty would still fight DLH if DLH wants to fight again.

And if baldy wins, then u get this great amazing cinderella story which is also sure to bring in a lot of fans.

So basically, u get the best of both worlds if floyd loses IMO.

But u get the much better part of 1 world if floyd wins.

idk which will be better, but we'll see

No..It wouldnt be bigger than Tyson Vs Douglas because Tyson was just...i mean just invincable, there was NO scenerio to beat him, NONE, with Mayweather things like size etc matter, lack of power etc. But with Tyson...no, nobody saw that coming, as a child i was in shock.

as ****y as Floyd is (which really makes you wish for someone to come through and shut his self-centered mouth) I dont think him losing to Baldomir would be any good for boxing.

Floyd was a diamond in the rough and just now in the last few years have we started to really see him shine.

It really would be nice for me as a boxing fan in this current era to witness possibly THE BEST EVER in the sport stay undeafeated and make history.

Floyd is slowly on track to becoming a household name, so his losing would be a step backwards IMO.

Seriously guys, if Floyd loses then what will we talk about? Im not even joking. Floyd is P4P #1 and is undefeated. If he loses then everyone else who is good has a bunch of losses on there resume & most of them are either boring in the ring or out the ring.

Winky cant make people talk about him non stop & Pac is ok but he's also just missing something. He also isnt American which would really hurt and all the other stars are getting old. No way would Floyd losing right now be a good thing, no matter who he loses too. Maybe Oscar is the exception because all the mainstream fans love him & he would go out on top & it would be a huge boxing story that could capture alot of people but that **** would only last temporary as Oscar would retire and then what?

No way would it be good for boxing in the US if another American star loses, e****ally to a foriegn fighter. Most of are stars now arent even American & now you want to knock off the biggest one we have left? Also dont forget that Floyd still has a chance to fight Oscar which would be super huge for boxing and get us alot of pub. It would be one of the biggest fights in history. You guys want to throw that away for Baldy? Sorry but I'll pass

mayweather losing to baldomir would be a good thing in my eyes. it would shake things up a bit. think about it. if baldomir beats pbf, then we have a possibility for a nice little rematch set up. and maybe even a rubbermatch.

besides, i personally can't stand him as a representitive for the sport of boxing.

obviously you are entitled to your opinion, but what country a fighter comes from should not really matter. taking that view is quite narrow minded as i see it. me, i just want to see good fighters making good fights/match-ups. i also find that many(not all, of corse) american fighters have a pompous, *******-like attitude. i would rather root for a nice, respectful foreign fighter than a brutishly arrogant american fighter. i simply want to see a fighter fight. if i wanted to hear a couple of people verbally tearing down each other, i'll pop in some old battle rap.
