Sounds like young Edwards arse is twitching over his two fight payday. For me Wilder has a case due to the pandemic and rematch option. Granted he didn't do himself any favours with the wall of silence and the ****** remarks thereafter but if it affects Tyson moving forward then it surely could affect these plans.

Its already begun. These are the excuses starting to build. I never really understood how anyone thought Fury was just going to waltz into another fight with arbitration hanging over his head. If you've paid any attention to showBUSINESS in the last 50 years, contract disputes have destroyed careers. You have to be a complete dumbass (or just a simpleton who believes anything that comes out of the mouth of Fury or Hearn) to think this wouldn't be the case.
As much I respect Fury's talent, its always amused me just how easily he manipulates the ******ed British population pretty much at will. Said he was fighting three months ago, a guy who seems to have no problem having junkyard fights to get in a few rounds. The lockdown would be a perfect way to remove ring rust fighting some unranked bums and keeping himself busy. And yet you're still thinking his court case (and lack of British boxing license) isn't going to be a big problem? Jesus Christ.Comment

Except thats not how contracts work. No judge is going to completely ignore the pandemic neither will they pretend as if the networks didn't hold off on fixing a date because of college football.Last edited by KingGilgamesh; 02-16-2021, 07:01 AM.Comment

I like Wilder despite, as you mentioned, his penchant for being an egotistical muppet but one would literally have to be brain dead to think he doesn't have a case.

All Judges will ignore an Act of God vs a contract with no act of God clause, I'd need to see the contract but given Bob is a lawyer and seems a 100% confident ...Comment

Contracts usually work on a force majeure or Act of God clause you can google the debate on if COVID counts as act of God but ... THERE HAS TO BE A CLAUSE IN THE CONTRACT, so Matchroom, Top Rank contracts have this the suggestion is Shelley didn't want one.

Them still going through mediation, instead of a simple injunction is all you need to know.
They don't have a legal leg to stand on, or they'd simply enforce it. Case closed, trilogy fight or huge payout on.
They need mediation to try and continue a discussion, hence Team Fury not caring and continuing with their AJ plans.Comment

Google Finkel vs Shannon Briggs in the NYC courts and you'll see why no one believes anything Shelley says.Comment
