Why did David Haye do so poorly against Wladimir Klitschko?

The fight was an extremely huge letdown. The pre-fight was amazing all the way up to the ring entrance and then nothing happened.

Just expected a lot more for my money's worth.

He was physically crippled with a broken toe. In hindsight, an incredibly brave performance from a true warrior.

That fight had one of the most amazing build ups ever for sure!

In regards to the fight itself, was a combination of Wlad's height, range and power. Because of this, it made Haye gun shy which costed him the fight. Him hurting his toe was a result of having to move more than he was use to with uncomfortable boxing shoes

        Your moneys worth lmfao.

I remember this fight was shown in the UK on Sky you needed a monthly subscription and the PPV

However if you had a dish pointed to the free astra it was free to air on RTL

So you really didn't need to spend any money

Klitschko was a quality fighter and didn’t underestimate Haye (unlike against Fury for example). He made sure he was well prepared and fought accordingly. Haye has many similarities to Wilder in a lot of ways - hyped because of his punch power but he is far from the elite boxer. Simple as that really.

Wlad used his advantages well over Haye, whereas Wlad has no advantages, except a slight single shot power edge over Fury. Haye also never went for broke, which would have been his best shot. Wlad was a quality fighter, about the same level as Joshua for me, but below the Fury's and Ali's of the world.

He was undersized for a big elite heavyweight like Wladimir.

But he was still good enough to beat stiff Valuev.

Your comparing fury and Ali now?

He’s literally had three fights of any decent level in his career. Won one by KO, won one by points which he wasn’t favourite to win the rematch and drew the other. He has a lot to prove to get himself anywhere near Ali level.

Lol, that is true. Ali had about 30 very tough fights. Fury must fight until his middle 40-s and win all the best fights to get close to this.
