Wow! Teofimo Turns down $4 Million to Fight Haney

I agree with the bold.
Arum sees something in Haney, or it's just a past vendetta. He doesn't like Devin Haney at all and craps on him indirectly in every interview.
Did he promote Haney before? I know the old man keeps grudges well.Comment

No grudges. Actually Arum and Bill have a cordial relationship they're both based in Vegas. Arum has a lot to offer Teo in house so Haney ain't in their plans.
When they made Ramirez vs Hooker there wasn't much in house for Ramirez and Top Rank knew that was an easy fight for Ramirez and he'd pick up a belt. This situation isn't the sameComment

Idk why Hispanic fighters are always pressed to fight African American when they hardly ever fight each other at the highest level and always make negotiations so difficult when their the A side.
Haney should fight Tank and Stevenson.Comment

Arum has already said the plan is Teo vs Ryan. Haney might be too much risk. If Ryan beats someone like Linares, I can see Lopez-Garcia next after Lopez-Kamboses.Comment

Having a shot at undisputed should be worth more.
Also Lopez did what Loma couldn't so compairing them doesn't add up.Comment
-
But the fact is, it didn't do much for Lopez, either. Didn't make him a star of anything.
If a star (Davis) beat Loma, it'd have catapulted Gervonta to the highest heights in boxing, because Loma was a big name. Lopez isn't anywhere near that.Comment

Don't know where Teo gets that he worth more than 4 million.
Didn't even know that there was 4 million to fight Haney. Teo got much less when he fought Loma, is stock went up but it didn't go up that high.Comment

Lomachenko vs Teo was a difficult negotiation. Teo vs Kambosos is a difficult negotiation. Teofimo Sr said he wanted $4 mil and Bill Haney said ok. Then Teo Sr asked Eddie Hearn for $10 million and Hearn told Sr to have Arum call him. That call never came.Comment
