B+. Dude could have easily had Floyd Mayweather money, resume, ATG status.

But he seemed to have mental/emotional issues which hurt his elite talent he possessed

That is why I can't give him that high of a rating as a B+ because mentality is part of the fight game, its the same as giving fighters things they don't have, what of Paulie had more power? Khan a concrete chin? What if Wilder had......you know, boxing skills?

These guys didn't have these attributes.

He accomplished a lot didn't he? Undisputed I think he was like a 6 time world champion or something crazy. Despite that his best win discounting a bs decision win over Matthysse I don't count, his best win was Cory Spinks who he is 1-1 with.

If I am honest he got exposed and embarrassed every single time he stepped up.

Great team behind him. Fast, explosive, athletically gifted but a low ring IQ and not much heart apart from right at the end of his career I think he showed a bit more dog.

B- because he's the second biggest waste of talent i've ever seen.

His inability to remain focused, his getting side tracked and over confident really put a strangle hold on his career trajectory.

Has all the physical tools: Speed, power, footwork, reflexes, durability.

But the man was running a 1990 processor unit.

When you hear him talk, when not emotionally vexed, he's not even a dumb guy. He knows boxing. But that lack of discipline I think is second to only Broner. 100% focused on their best day, the beat majority of boxers.

And my favorite fight of his is not even a win 'Zab Judah was Miguel Cotto's acid test, and even in losing? He produced a tremendous performance'.

Awesome fight, great atmosphere 'There has not been a elite level fight as good stateside since' Crowd involvement, and both fighters going through all their gears etc

              That's why I didn't give him an A or A-.

But even with his issues, he was highly skilled and had multiple resurgence late in his career.

Without those issues he would be an A.

My B grade wasn't based off "what if"

Solid A. Multiple belts at 140, all the belts and the lineal title at 147, wins over Cory Spinks, Micky Ward, Junior Witter, Terron Millett, DeMarcus Corley, Lucas Matthysse.

-IBF 140 champion, 5 successful defenses, lost in a unification to Kostya Tzsyu
-WBO 140 champion, 1 successful defense, moved up to 147*
-Undisputed WBA, WBC, IBF, The Ring, and Lineal 147 champion, 1 successful defense, stripped of some titles and lost the others to Carlos Baldomir and Floyd Mayweather Jr
-IBF 140 champion again, lost in first defense in a unification to Amir Khan

*Before the WBO was fully recognized as a major world title; the WBA had recognized it but the IBF and WBC had not yet done so

Before he got old and washed up, his only losses were to the likes of Cory Spinks, Kostya Tszyu, Carlos Baldomir, Floyd Mayweather, and Miguel Cotto.

Even the washed up version of Zab was good enough to beat Lucas Matthysse and win a final world title at 140. And even near the end he wasn't scared to take on top guys like Danny Garcia, Amir Khan, or Paulie Malinaggi despite being a sad shell of what he was in his prime.

Zab was a true warrior and he doesn't get nearly the respect he deserves.

Cory Spinks was the freaking undisputed champion of the world coming off a win over Ricardo Mayorga (who himself had just beaten Vernon Forrest twice) when Zab stopped him and you're trying to discredit that win?

Only on Boxing Scene can you knock out the undisputed champion of the world in the prime of his career and have people trash your win.
