He is 35 years old and from Japan. I'm sorry but Japanese fighters aren't really that proven at middleweight so there was some hype behind him a couple years back when people wanted him to face GGG, but I never rated him and still do not now.

The funniest part of the whole Murata hype saga was that after Rob "Honestly, who the f_ck is this guy" Brant battered him, people had no choice but to then rate Brant as a 'contender'* to keep consistency with the whole "Murata is a really good opponent and unified/lineal champion material.

The sad truth is that the belt Murata is holding is like those gold coins with chocolate in them, it was a vacant title and has been passed around like a hot potato between various random 7-11 workers. Anywho no disrespect they are all pros, but there's a pretty big gap between GGG, Canelo, Jermall, Jacobs, Derevyanchenko etc. and Rod Brant and Yoshimaru Mu****uki or whatever their names are.

(and of course you could add Andrade and BJS to the list of names superior to Brett and Mu****uji)

    *won WBA belt

GGG did NOT beat Canelo though. Both fights were a draw. Some people say Canelo won 2nd and GGG won 1st but they were both a draw.

Golovkin has 4 fights that matter - at all - through his entire resume.

2 draws with Canelo, 1 narrow decision over Jacobs, and a loss to Dervenchenko. That's it.

Golovkin continues to avoid fighting legitimate challengers and instead fights Vanes, Szermeta, WW and MW like Kell Brook, etc. Now he fights Murata instead of Charlo, Andrade, etc. A joke.

ok well he won the first fight in my mind so thats what i go by. if you think he lost or drew thats ok but i post based on my opinions and boxing is mostly opinion unless you get ko'd like pac or wilder. once again if beating top 10 guys was so easy why have charlo and andrade only done it once? if ggg has 4 fights that matter charlo has 1 then? andrade 0? thats still a lot more work as you put it. murata charlo and andrade are on the same level. charlo lost to korobov and murata to brant. murata prob has the overall better resume though. andrade hasnt lost but he also hasnt fought anyone. ggg is also 39 so he really shouldn't be fighting anymore but people love money. it would be best if he retired and charlo and andrade fought each other or murata

I just think it's funny that these 2 guys were trying to come at me for saying GGG-Murata would be a fun fight...and when I posted a similar comment from a month ago about Canelo-Yildrim, they act like they don't see that comment.

I'm about that weight but an inch or two shorter. I feel very confident in a fight vs someone. Obviously that would never happen, but certainly some dudes on here need to get at least slapped in the mouth.

Don't make me post all the times you took shots at Canelo for his opposition.

Yet here you are co-signing Golovkin fighting Murata.

Good action fight. Don't know why people are crying for Andrade. He should get fights that will position him in a better light.

Murata is a fight tailor made for ggg because ggg can't handle and is not comfortable with other styles. Where was this energy and drive of unifying when jermall charlo was his mandatory a couple of years back? Where is that energy of unifying with jemall now on top of that? Demetrius andrade is still out there as WBO champ. No interest from ggg for those fights, yeah?
