true, but then why arent they coming out and saying it? if you were floyd and you were gonna make than $8 mil, wouldnt you throw that in arum's face?
Why would Mayweather throw anything in Arum's face?

If you read his interviews, he remains respectfull towards Arum and any other promoter he talks about.

The reason he dumped Arum in the first place was because Delahoya would never fight in another one of Arum's promotions again.

I have no doubt the info will be released after the fight's over and with the PPV incentives it will easilly be at least 8 Million.

GL: Bob Arum's $8M offer for Mayweather to fight Antonio Margarito has been well documented. Can you tell us why you believe Baldomir is a more meaningful fight and will Mayweather make more than $8M according to the terms of your deal?

Dan Goossen: "First off, fights aren't made because of the money that's offered. Floyd is obviously on a level where he can make that kind of money fighting a lot of different fighters, including Baldomir. The key to Floyd Mayweather and his fights is what he's always stood for and said, that he wants the highest profile fights out there. I believe that when everything is said and done, this is a fight that hits that expectation. It is already creating a buzz and just within a short time frame of it being announced there is much anticipation within the boxing world. It's not about money here, although its there, this is about being the best and Baldomir brings a challenge and more importantly, brings a risk to Floyd. Sycuan believes Floyd has made a mistake taking on the real Cinderella Man. Baldomir has earned his stripes inside the ring, not based on what his promoter says for him outside of the ring, but from beating 2 former champions back-to-back. From that end of it, there is no bigger challenge at welterweight for Floyd and that includes Shane Mosley. Baldomir defeated Zab Judah and manhandled Arturo Gatti to get here. Some were talking about Shane and Margarito for Floyd, but I believe neither had done anything recently to have earned it. What the fight fans would like to see, and us, is for Margarito and Shane to duel it out early next year to try to earn the right to fight Floyd. That's who Shane should be fighting. I believe the winner of that fight becomes a future possible opponent for Floyd."

Now, Goosen is one slick cat, as you'll notice. The question was put to him directly, and he could never just come out and guarantee that Floyd will make $8M.

He says "It's not about the money..." and "Floyd CAN make that kind of money..." But he never says "Yes, Floyd IS making that kind of money."

You ask, and you receive, my son.

So you go from hanging dependatly off the 8 Million dollar figure, to clinging to the word garuntee.

Bottom line is that Floyd walks away from this fight with at least 8 Million.

And at that point, you'll look like an even bigger ass than you do now with all the crying you've done over that specific dollar figure for the last three months.

Not that that changes the fact you still can't grasp that Margarito needs to be looking at what fights are available to him outside of Floyd and make decisions that will improve his resume from this point on.

If he was anything like you, he'd just sit idle and cry about how hard he tried to fight Floyd.

Once again, Williams is the best fight out there for him, and it's ready to be made.

Right. There is no guarantee. IF the fight does well enough, then Floyd MIGHT make $8M. And that's doubtful. The fight would have to do better gate and PPV than Judah-Mayweather. I don't really see that, but it's possible if it's promoted right.

Either way, he stands to make more by fighting Margarito in his next fight, because that PPV will likely do better than a Baldomir PPV, and will CERTAINLY do a better live gate in Vegas, and from the sound of it, Margarito is willing to take less than Baldomir is reportedly making, just to make the fight happen. We'll see, Arum will be waiting to make an offer after November, I'm sure.

More spinning and even more ironic (and hilarious) ALL speculation. The estimates in that ESPN article trumps you biased and ignorant guesswork.

You just can't accept that Margarito needs to get on with his career and look to improve his resume.

That's just further proof your only reason to rant in these threads is because of your agenda.

Floyd will almost certianly fight Oscar early next year.

The fact you just went to such lengths to scramble and say you're not sure it would be an 8 Million dollar fight for Floyd and you don't think it will do 1 Million PPV buys speaks for itself.

Floyd's walking away from the Baldomir fight with as much money as he would have agaisnt Margarito and that prospect infuriates you.

You can't bring yourself to accpet the fact that Margarito needs to move on and start beefing up his resume, and you have no answer as to why he shouldn't fight Paul Williams.

You couldn't be anymore see through with what motivates your ignornace.

Floyd MIGHT walk away from the Baldomir fight with $8M. Or he MIGHT walk away with less, who knows? I have no problem with him fighting Baldomir, although he should have already done it earlier this year.

I've said why Margarito has no reason to fight Williams at least three times in this thread. You replied to it directly once, so I know you read it. Margarito is moving on, he's fighting Clottey, more than likely. It's not as though he's sitting around until a Floyd fight opens up. What should he do to move on? LOL It looks like he's fighting Clottey on the Cotto card in Dec. Clottey is highly ranked at welter, so it's a good fight for him. Not as good as a Williams fight, but hey, Floyd said Williams is nothing and Margarito beating Williams means nothing and he still won't fight him, so why risk a fight with a nearly unknown freak of a welter when it gains you absolutley nothing?

Reason #1 would be that it's his mandatory fight. Reason #2 would be that it's a better and more credible fight than Clottey, because Williams is ranked higher and is better known after back to back televised fights on HBO.

He's also been calling Margarito out for a long time.

So we have a better fight available, you try to excuse him not taking it by saying "Floyd says it does him no good" and then go on to justify a fight with a lesser fighter who does him no good in Floyd's eyes either.

And the Clottey fight isn't signed, another instance of ignorace you tired to pass off as fact earlier.

Williams is screaming for the fight, he's the #1 contender for the WBO title, and it's a very interesting fight for boxing fans everywhere.

Just typical you make an excuse for why it shouldn't happen.

You should really go into comedy.

it definitely should happen, Willaims versus margarito would be FOTY candidate IMO if both of these guys' chins hold up. the only obstacel i see, unless margarito or arum refuse which i doubt, is that Williams might ask for a lot of money because the offer to floyd has everyone thinking they can ask for huge money to fight margarito. but we all know these other guys are no #4# #1 floyd mayweather and dont have that option, thay need to just take the fight if they feel they can use him as a stepping stone for bigger fights.
