Clottey is ranked #4 by the WBC, the belt Floyd is about to win. Williams is Floyd's #1 contender, so I really think the comments were as much to deflect possible Mayweather-Williams talk as Mayweather-Margarito. Williams is a freak at 147, and totally wild and unpredictable.

I'd almost be willing to bet 5 billion that Floyd will look to just move out of 147 altogether once he gets the title from Baldomir, then you'll see him go for Spinks, Mosely, DLH at 154.

        A) What does ANY of that have to do with why Margarito shouldn't be fighting Williams?

        B) Great deduction at the end there ace. You 'think' Floyd will look to fight Delahoya next? What a predicition.

Clottey is ranked #4? Well, Quintana is #3 and Williams is #2. Why is he settling for #4 when a guy ranked higher is challenging him?

IMHO I think regardless of what Mayweather says now, If Williams fights big fights against the great competition in 147 & stays undefeated, he'll attain enough popularity that I'm sure Mayweather would jump at the chance to fight him, & If Margarito doesn't take care of him first he might just pay for it later when he loses the chance to fight him(especially if he keeps fighting guys no one is interested in seeing him fight). Not only that but it would be a great opportunity for Margarito to prove to the populous why he thinks he's the most feared man in boxing against a top notch prospect like Williams. In my opinion for Margarito a fight with Williams would be a win/win situation.

Once again, Margarito (for his sake and that of his fans) needs to stop worrying about Mayweather and look to set up the best fights possible for him.

There's no one that's going to "corner" Floyd with Mosley not fighting in 2006 and Oscar saying he'll only return to fight Floyd.

Mayweather's got his eye on the career payday with Oscar, and isn't going to fight Margarito anytime soon.

So once again, he - like you - needs to move on.

Paul Williams has been calling him out for a while now, and is the mandatory for his title. He's a hot prospect right now and the fight would generate a lot of interest.

There's no reason he shouldn't be taking it in place of a lesser fight like Clottey.
LOL Fine, you were talking about Williams. I can admit when I'm wrong. I jumped the gun and thought you were saying Margarito wasn't on Floyd's level, which you've probably said before if I felt like looking for it.

But the Margarito fight is still probably going to be the biggest payday for Floyd, because Margarito was willing to take next-to-nothing for it. Mosely and DLH are going to command lion's shares, esp DLH. For Floyd to have a guarantee of $8M with DLH, then DLH would have to make $20M. The fight would be big, but that big? I don't know. I suspect Arum is going to still wave the largest guaranteed purse for Floyd in front of him. Mosely-Mayweather will be big, too, but is it really THAT big of a fight where Floyd can make $8M by taking a equal or lesser cut? I doubt it.

Because Floyd just deflated the fight by going on the record stating a win over Williams is nothing and won't get Margarito any closer to a fight with him. Simple as that.

WEAK. Go ahead and dig it up champ. Nothing like a "I was wrong BUT".

But nothing. You read into that because you're predispositioned to cry about the same topic like a little *****. You're a broken record, and the only reason you ever come here is to cry about Mayweahter.

MOre evidence you're COMPLETELY off your rocker.

You're actually suggesting a fight with Margarito will be more money than a fight with Delahoya?

WOW, you're more desperate with your ******ity than I thought.

Delahoya vs Mayorga did 800K PPV sales. Just imagine what that would be for Oscar fighting the top fighter in the sport.

A slice of the pie on top of his purese is EASILLY in the mid teens (millions).

Once again, you go on and on and on like a broken record about Margarito Mayweahter.

When are you going to let it go?

It's NOT happening. Get over it.

Margarito should be looking to further his career by fighting the best fights possible from this point on.

Because down the road, no one's going to remember any of the crying you and those like you did about Margarito Mayweather unless Margarito goes on to make a name for himself by winning big fights, which he HASN'T done yet.

Margartito has one of the hottest prospects in boxing as his mandatory calling him out. There's NO REASON why that shouldn't be the fight he looks to next.

I see. So Margarito should just give up on taking meaningfull fights.

Maybe he could quit boxing and resort to coming to this site exclusivley to cry about it. Seems to work well for you.
