With the success and acclaim williams received fighting back to back on HBO BAD, there's no reason why this fight shouldn't be made.
Well, other than if you're in Margarito's camp then you want to make fights that corner Floyd. Floyd just went on the record saying that beating Williams does nothing for launching Tony into a fight with Floyd, so that's one HUGE reason why the fight shouldn't be made, from Tony's POV.

If Tony REALLY wants the fight, he should fight someone that else then!

I'll give you a good reason the fight should be made. One word: MANDATORY...

Is it difficult to speak with your foot in your mouth? Nice job of avoiding what a senseless prick you just made yourself look like ranting about a conversation you were utterly LOST in.
Once again, Margarito (for his sake and that of his fans) needs to stop worrying about Mayweather and look to set up the best fights possible for him.
There's no one that's going to "corner" Floyd with Mosley not fighting in 2006 and Oscar saying he'll only return to fight Floyd.
Mayweather's got his eye on the career payday with Oscar, and isn't going to fight Margarito anytime soon.
So once again, he - like you - needs to move on.
Paul Williams has been calling him out for a while now, and is the mandatory for his title. He's a hot prospect right now and the fight would generate a lot of interest.
There's no reason he shouldn't be taking it in place of a lesser fight like Clottey.
Margarito has been trying to fight Floyd, regarded as the best fighter at his weight, so what exactly is "typical Margarito"? Williams is just now becoming known, Ouma was fighting at 154 and is now challenging Taylor, so I don't know how you can fault Margarito. He's trying to fight the best.
Typical Margarito is Lujan, Kyvelos, Gomez... Fights that no one gives a **** about. These are the type of fighters PROSPECTS are fighting. This should not be the level of opposition for a world champion...
Typical Margarito is calling out the #1 fighter in the sport, getting rejected, and then looking for an opponent in the top 30 at welterweight...
Typical Margarito is calling people out and calling people ******* for not accepting the challenge and then not accepting a challenge from the people that call him out...
You say Tony is trying to fight the best. There are better fighters than Clottey available. Williams is one of them. Sign the contract...

Ding ding ding ding!! Correct!
The way some of these nutters are ranting, Margarito should just retire. Trying really hard to land a fight with Mayweather is quite and accomplishment.
