    I'd give him a C being kind.

Discounting a bs decision over an ancient Foreman his best wins were a well past prime Ray Mercer & Sergey Liakovich who wasn't ever much good & gave him hell until Briggs pulled it out late.

Those a side his record is littered with a literal 60 or so nobodies.

If Wilder is a C+ I feel I'm being too kind even giving him a C
    his resume stinks.

I'm giving him a D+ for those reasons, him being big and having alot of early kos over club fighters most of whom have horrendous records does nothing for me.

One of his biggest accomplishments in fact was not being stopped after losing every rd some 10-8 to Vitali.

If you mean how good he is right now I vote F. He is much to old an just a bum beater now. He has not fought anybody in boxrec's top 100 in many years and he just fights guys nobody ever heard of. He talks a good fight and wants a big payday while doing nothing to earn one. He is also a stalker following top heavyweights trying to goad them into wasting their time fighting him. He is no longer important at all. Just a washed up old boxer who should retire.

            I give him a B

Briggs was a real good HW contender but never a proper champion. His resume and titles reflect that.

It should be noted the WBO wasn't a major world body until 08, so he's more like an IBO champ today than a major strap holder.

Pretty sure he's going into BKFC bud. He's not fought since 2016 so there is no "now" really.

Let's ask Lennox Lewis. This is what he said when he was asked by The Ring who had the best hand speed and power of anyone he fought
                BEST PUNCHER
Shannon Briggs: He lacked endurance but Briggs certainly knew how to put his bodyweight behind a punch. Unfortunately for him you need the full package when you face me so power isn’t enough. Fans may expect me to say McCall or Hasim Rahman for punching power but I basically set myself up against both of them.

                FASTEST HANDS
Briggs: I was surprised by Briggs’ handspeed. He was able to close the gap very quickly and that allowed him to get off the big punches. Sometimes you don’t realize how quick someone is until you’re in there.
                Briggs best wins:
George Foreman (I thought he deserved the W unlike many who thought it was a robbery)
Siarhei Liakhovich (he was coming off a win over Brewster, who had just dethroned Klitschko)
                Ray Mercer

He got knocked out in 5 against Lewis but it was a hell of a fun ride while it lasted.

Vitali Klitschko put a savage beating on Briggs but Shannon tore his bicep in the first round. Lasting the distance against Vitali with one arm is an accomplishment in itself.

I think he's way better than Frank Bruno and I gave Bruno a C+, so I'll call Briggs a B-.

This is incorrect. The WBO was recognized by all three other governing bodies when Briggs beat Liakhovich for it.

WBA recognized the WBO in 2000
WBC recognized the WBO in 2004
IBF recognized the WBO between May 2006 and February 2007
Briggs won the title in November 2006, lost it in June 2007

Briggs was also the lineal heavyweight champion so he's a 2X champion.

Meh, his BS win over geriatric Foreman has always left a bad taste in my mouth.

                    He was okay, I guess.
